Double charged, still trying to get refunded.

I booked my room here through Expedia and used the Pay Now option so I was billed by Expedia immediately. When I got to the hotel to check in, they had my reservation on file but claimed they had no record of the pay now option and insisted I pay up front at check in, again. It was late on a Sunday night and I had to be up early for a surgical procedure the next morning so I just paid them, believing it would be a simple matter to get the charges refunded with a simple phone call after I got out of the hospital.
When I called Expedia, they were polite and helpful but said they had to verify, with the hotel, that I had indeed double paid. The hotel insisted they had not charged me anything at check in, despite the receipt I had in hand, and the charges already showing on my banking statement. It has been two weeks now and Motel 6 is refusing to give me a refund unless I send them a full months worth of my personal banking information, not terribly happy about this
The stay itself was pleasant enough, the staff were friendly, the grounds were well maintained and the room was clean. Standard Motel 6 fare, it's a comfortable place to sleep and then be on your way but of course not necessarily where you'd want to spend an extended stay.
