Needs Improvement

The hotel is old, run down and located in a not-very-nice neighborhood. Outside the hotel, there was trash everywhere and half of the fence was on the ground. The elevator wasn't working and in the room, the bathtub faucet was leaking water the whole time.

It's clean, comfortable, nice A/C. The cable TV was bad, the sheets were worn, but a decent place for sure.

Puke on the Wall

First tip was location amidst dog-guarded auto shops and bars; next the bullet-proof glass at check-in. They didn't have my 4-night reservation and asked if I'd be paying for 1 night or 2. I foolishly said two. My cc charge was to Mangat Houston Racetrack. In my room, I found puke on the bathroom wall, hair dryer cord and facial tissue holder. Wads of wet tissue were thrown on the ceiling. I put a bedspread on the floor to walk because it hadn't been vaccuumed (for how long!?). My husband's call couldn't be transfered from the desk; I used my cell. The closet had all of 4 hangers and a bar so low bar my coat dragged the floor--I left it on the bed instead. I checked out 1st AM & requested a refund for the 2nd night. The attendant "didn't know how" to refund a card but "figured it out" when I called my card co. to report the inn's fraudulent charge.
