We had stayed there in the past and was ok. They need to post on their website that it is being turned into long term rental property and should no longer be presented as a hotel. Pictures show breakfast which they no longer offer. Carpet was dirty.

First they tried to charge my credit card there is no breakfast at this hotel and I was treated like a resident instead of a guest the sheets was not cleaned and we could not get the garbage taken out I would not recommend this hotel because they're going through construction and trying to change it into an apartment complex that is what I was told

Asked why I was staying here when checking in?
When I check in I was asked whyI was staying here, as they are converting to apartments. I had already prepaid and booked for a week so not much I could do about it. Would not recommend booking and have no idea why they are even accepting reservations as they are in no condition to be accepting paying guests.

The staff was friendly but this establishment is transitioning into an apartment complex...There isnt any continental breakfast anymore as well.

Despite advertising free breakfast, it has been discontinued. The room was not clean. The carpet had several stains including a mysterious large blue stain by the bathroom. The tub surround was dirty. The bathroom countertop had a waxy pile of goo and the sheets had holes in them. This property is converting three rooms into apartments so they are not maintaining the remaining hotel rooms as necessary.

Disappointed on my birthday
The pictures are not up to date with how the hotel looks now. The pictures shows a full stove/oven which it only has a stove top. The restroon were not clean, there was no soap in the kitchen area, no extra toiletries to be replaced. The only thing was food was the a/c.

Quality gone down hill
We stayed at the Sonesta ES Suites before, and it was amazing. So, we decided to return and have a nice anniversary stay. Well, to our surprise Sonesta was transitioning to apartments. There were only a select few suites available to book online for hotel stay. Moving forward, we requested a room where we didn't have to walk upstairs since I recently had surgery. The front desk agent, Ashley, was very accommodating. She changed our room location. Now that we are in our room, we noticed somethings that did not give the same feel as before. The carpet was stained red in front of the bathroom sink, the dishes in the kitchen were not clean (had a black film on them but I rewashed them), the furniture that was previously in the room is replaced with cheap distasteful furniture, and there was no iron along with the ironing board (had to request it from the front desk). As we moved around to leave the complex, we noticed some genuinely concerning issues. 1) Loud music around the tennis court and swimming pool. Again, we are aware that they are transitioning to apartments, but this is a noise ordinance. 2) One of the residents was standing in his apartment window nude. Yes, naked!!! 3) Another resident is walking her dogs, and they are relieving themselves but she's not picking the poop up. Again, another city ordinance being broken. This would have been one of the best stays, but we can see that this place is going down before a full transition takes place.

I had a little problem at check in, not the room I had rented. The customer service clerk was able to make it happen and everything turned out great. The description needs updating as they are converting over to full time apartments and only 30% is available for hotel guest. Parking was full and hard to find a space. Overall enjoyed my visit.

Gone downhill
Sonesta’s management changed and the quality has gone downhill. It was quoted as having free breakfast, but I learned at check in that new mgt took that away. When we got to our room it smelled like mildew. There were a pile of wet towels inside our room by the front door. It looked like they were there due to a leaky vent. They also removed the blackout curtains in the center living room. This was a problem as my young daughter was sleeping on the foldout couch and was awake with the sunrise. Given the room was so bright, she could not go back to sleep. We have been staying here for years as the suites work well for our larger family, but after this experience we will find a new place to stay next time we visit.

The room was very roomy and clean. I love the full kitchen. On Hotels.com it showed breakfast was included. They do not do breakfast anymore. There's not even coffee in the lobby. We had coffee in the room though.

We have visited this property several times over the last few years. We really like the Clear Lake area, and Bay Area Blvd is a great location. Because of our prior experience, we knew this property is a no-frills to the extreme experience. Don’t expect anything for breakfast regardless of what’s promised on the reservations page. Don’t expect an extra pillow or replacement towels or literally anything. No one will ask you for your stay was. We knew all of this and made our peace with the experience because it’s always been a good space for our family. However, this stay was deplorable. The property has taken a serious nosedive since starting to rent to tenants as an apartment complex. We killed 2 roaches within the first 30 minutes in our “suite”. Feral cats were pouring out of the overflowing dumpsters. There was body hair left in the tub from the last occupant, and perhaps the final straw was what appeared to be none of that blood spatter on the wall behind the door of the only fully functional bathroom. (We had a 2-bed, 2-bath “suite”, and the other toilet apparently had no wax ring under it as water just poured out of the bottom. Knowing the apathy of past staff, I didn’t bother to share any of this info with staff until I checked out (even then no one asked about the quality of my stay.) The staff member I spoke to wasn’t surprised or appalled by my reports at all and simply said “some units need more work that others”. Needless to say, we’ll find another hotel.

The listing I reserved said it had breakfast included. There was an area that appeared to be set up for a breakfast bar, but there was no food. Even in the pictures in the listing, there is food shown in the area I saw. This was a real problem for me. I ended up having to walk to McDonalds and purchase breakfast (if that is what you can all it). Be assured, even though the listing says breakfast is included...it is not.

Did not know when we booked this property that the hotel/suites were being turned into apartments. Sonesta must be going under. The place was dirty, blood on the closet door, the shower did not work. Overall they are done with taking care of things as a hotel. They seem to be having a hard time renting out as apts, giving 2 months free rent.

DO NOT STAY HERE… being converted to apartments
I should have taken photos but I would not stay here again. First off this property is being converted to apartments so there was no breakfast as listed or even a hotel store to buy snacks or drinks. Then there was no elevator so having to get the luggage for 10 people up the stairs was a definite challenge. Once in the rooms the carpet was stained and some of the sheets in the rooms had not been changed. Just overall it felt like cleaning was half done at best. I don’t blame the staff there was almost none left due to the fact the hotel was being closed to convert into apartments. They were clearly trying the best they could with the situation they were in too. I wish I had taken pictures but sadly it didn’t ✞ my mind at the time.

The Rooms are like small Apartments
The ES in the name must mean extended stay. Seemed like many were staying there long term. They are like tiny apartments. Only negative was there was drama outside our apartment on the stairs with a couple arguing over alcohol. I like the space over a normal hotel room.

Great location for us, with kitchen and ample parking. They are transitioning to be an apartment complex, so it feels a bit like a neighborhood, with families in the pool and playing cards in the common area, which also has a grill.

When searching for hotels on Expedia, I filtered out "Free Breakfast". This property does not provide any breakfast! Please remove that and the picture of the "breakfast buffet". As far as the property, there's dog feces where people are not picking up. Also trash all over. The room itself has dirty carpets with a burn hole. Bedsheets had black sharpie writing on them... Overall, I was very disappointed.

Had checked in on Thursday evening and around 1130-1145 pm the smoke alarm went off and continued off n on throughout the night up until around 815 am the net morning than again that Friday night around the same time until around 2 am and we asked to be compensated when we checked out but the manager on duty when we checked out said that upper manager said no. I don’t believe this was the why to handle the situation because it was a inconvenience and scary at the same time to be sleep and be woke up to this not knowing if it was the real thing this time

I had the 2 bedroom & it was wonderful! It was clean & huge. It had a full kitchen. Enough space for all of us. Nice & cozy. Room temperature was perfect. Front staff Lazaro(?) Was excellent in helping us with checking in & laundry room procedures. I highly recommend this place. If we ever visited Houston area again, we would definitely stay again.

Location was great but the room was not adequately clean and the noise level with the residents above our room was horrible until the wee hours of the morning. Nothing in the room to wash dishes or clean with. Beds were comfortable and clean. Water pressure was good. The manager on duty was great and worked to make things right.

This place is transitioning to apartments. Not impressed with having to drive around the block to the front desk to get clean towels. The pool and hot tub were red tagged and locked up by the city and the laundry facilities were dirty. My clothes were soaking wet after a wash and I had to hand rinse them. It’s very deceiving in amenities. However the room was upstairs and there was a fence around the entire property. The curtains were torn, sheets had old stains on it, the pull out was layered with dog fur and dog food and the tv was direct tv with no remote so we were stuck watching the weather channel.

Anniversary Trip
I have stayed here before and it appears they are upgrading. I was told there is new management and it shows, the staff was great. The room was impeccable, clean and seemed freshly painted. There were minor issues of no coffee maker and no silverware. We informed the staff and got the coffee maker, we did not inform them about the cutlery until checkout. The only other issue was that there was a strangely large number of flies. All that aside, the bed was very comfortable and we would definitely stay again.

Room was spacious, clean, and I loved that it has a full service kitchen. Property was quiet. Only drawback was the pool was closed. Staff was fast and friendly. Would recommend this place to friends and family.

We ended up canceling our stay due to the room being completely unsanitary. We are not sure what was all over the carpet. The location now also does short term rentals and it felt unsafe. The agent at the hotel however was very easy to work with and we were allowed to cancel the stay and be refunded.
