Room was big an comfortable, conveniently located to all the attractions we came to Houston to visit. However if you have a room close to the pool or basketball courts expect lots of noise till about 10:30pm. Hotel is older needs some updates but it was comfortable and affordable, would stay here again.

nice location, facilities not up to par

Posted Jul 17, 2016
Pros: Great breakfast, excellent basic cleanliness
Cons: Need many more grab bars, especially at shower bench. Need seating suitable to transfer to/from wheelchair or scooters. Lower threshold at door.
Location: busy S Main St, but good white noise buffer. free parking, shuttle, city bus svc to NRG stadium, The Medical Ctr, Museums, Rice U; Kroger next door
the room seemed clean, the linens were high quality, plenty of easy handicap parking, excellent breakfast with staff willing to go the extra mile to assist those with disabilities---but the toilet clogged twice in a 3 day stay. When I turned down the bed the first night, I wasn't sure if I scared off a millipede thing with front pincers, but found some to kill in the bathroom almost every time I was in there. It had railings for toilet and shower, but they were all in the wrong places, clearly not in accordance with ADA. no railing extended beyond edge of shower, so in trying to stand to finish drying off, one of the towel racks came off the wall. as I spent more time in the room, I started noticing how tired it seemed: globby paint in corners from repeated paintings, places where moldings didn't come together leaving holes into the walls, broken springs in all of the upholstered seating made it difficult to stand up from them, the room didn't work for two wheelchairs, the front door had a high, bumpy threshold, and then a downward slope (whether going in or out), my spouse's chair couldn't get into the kitchen. There was not a single chair with firm seating at knee-height, with solid arms to help sitting and standing, and without casters (frightening to sit down on something that might scoot away). The kitchen light fixtures were so old the plastic had turned into milky yellowish light-minimizing yuck. I might have forgiven if this room was priced like LaQuinta.

Una casita cerca del Medical Center

Posted May 28, 2016

Mecum Auction Houston

Posted Apr 18, 2016 on Hotels
Attending the Mecum Auto Auction at the NRG Center, hotel location was about a half mile away and shuttle service is provided to the entry gate. Hotel provides a complimentary breakfast and was the usual food at most hotels. Exterior of hotel could use some paint since it was peeling off. Interior rooms were comfortable and average condition. Very good restaurants in about one mile of hotel and Starbucks us located next door inside the Kroger.
