Exceeded My Expectations!

Posted Dec 14, 2016
Pros: Warm, professional staff, clean well lit facilty, plush modern rooms, amazing breakfast, and complimentary happy hour socials.
Cons: Nothing. This hotel sets the bar for all others!
Location: Located on I-10 West & Park Row in the Energy Corridor. Very nice restaurants and other shops in the immediate vicinity.
This was my first time booking a room with Residence Inn. I was attending a work-related training seminar on Park Row, so I did a Google search of nearby hotels, and selected this hotel based on proximity, reviews, and price. When I arrived to check-in, I was immediately greeted with a genuine warm welcome and check-in was quick and accurate. I was extended an invite to attend a hotel happy hour social later that evening, with complementary wine, beer, soft drinks, chili and sandwiches. I noticed the rest of the hotel staff as being well groomed, friendly and professional. The room I selected was their "standard" room. The room was not even close to what I would call "standard"...It was more like a mini-suite, with modern furnishings and comfort. The king bed was tucked back in a corner alcove, making if feel like there were two living areas. The room smelled fresh and clean and not one speck of dust. A lavish breakfast is served each day, like what you might find at a restaurant. My overall experience immensely surpassed my expectations. I will make every effort to look for a Residence Inn on my future travels, and have already recommended it to my work colleagues and family. A++

A quality hotel that did everything right

Posted Nov 7, 2016
Pros: Staff, facilities, room size & comfort. We had a nice suite that was quiet
Cons: We were happy with the whole experience. No complaints
Location: We were just in one night and out the next morning but it seemed a nice enough area

Pros: Good rate per night for lots of amenities!
Cons: The friendliness of the check in staff. They didn't explain much about how to get to the room or which room we were given.
Nice hotel for an overnight stay. The parking lot was full and a few spots were flooded/muddy. The room itself was great - it had a kitchenette with some dish ware and things to help the hotel feel more like an apt. Lots of furniture in a small room. It was mainly quiet and clean. Only stayed one night, but it was excellent/valuable for the price.

Room exceeded expectations.

Room was spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. We used the pull out sofa, and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. Very nice options for breakfast. Was disappointed when I wanted to stay an extra night at the same price I booked the room for, and they would not work with me at all.

Nice hotel, beats a motel 6 any day

Posted Dec 18, 2015
Pros: newer building, nicely appointed rooms, and nice public areas, and a fenced-in dog run for fido, decent if standard free breakfast buffet, direct tv, a good place to rest up from a long Texas road trip Cons: institutional lighting makes it feel cold and office like (cold bright white lights in the interior), the public facilities like the lobby and hallways were spotless but our room had some stains on the base of the beds, All things considered a good place in tje middle of no where to rest your tired self after hours of driving

Ashara residence inn katy tx

Posted Nov 5, 2015
Pros: LOCATION. NOTHING ELSE.
Cons: BETTER HOUSEKEEPING; BETTER FURNISHINGS AND BETTER LINENS. VERY POOR QUALITY BREAKFAST AND EVENING HAPPY HOURS. ONLY SERVED NACHOS FOR HAPPY HOURS
Location: KATY GOOD LOCATION NEAR GOOD RESTAURANTS
THIS HOTEL IS QUITE RUN DOWN WITH DIRTY AND OLD LINENS; OLD FURNISHINGS; OLD TORN TOWELS; STAINED CARPETS. The Housekeeping staff at the Residence Inn in Katy Texas; does not clean the rooms much. They spend approx. 10 mins or less per room. They do not change the linens during my 14 days of stay. They only change the towels; make the bed and do not even vacuum every day. They Do not have enough Housekeeping staff for a 130+ rooms Residence Inn that was at 100% capacity due to our event in Katy where most hotels were at `100 % due to over 25 000 persons attending this event. In Residence Inn that I have stayed in the past the staff have put the dirty dishes in the dish washer and run them. This Marriott Residence Inn was worse than any Motel 6 or lower grade hotel. The front office staff was not trained properly and this property kept on losing power supply. They did not have a back up generator. At $130 per night plus this was a huge dispppointment. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. A SHAME TO THE MARRIOTT NAME BRAND.

Thank you for your response. I'm not sure if I spoke to you at checkout about these issues. We do apologize if you feel this way about our hotel. We did lose power due to a transformer outside the hotel going out due to the weather. I have spoken with many of your colleagues that felt we went above and beyond for them during their time here. We opened up our breakfast very early Thursday for their event. We provided more non meat products during breakfast and added a tea to the breakfast upon requests. Again I sincerely apologize and we hope to make it up to you in the near future. Have a great day.
