Great stay in Hualien

The hotel has a great location - right by the ocean and just a short stroll away for the Dadongmen Night Market. The rooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Staff is extremely helpful and speaks good English. They have bikes for rent and you should take advantage of this - in thirty to forty minutes you can get to the bucolic Qixingtan beach. The breakfast buffet has limited options, but there is a great salad bar with fresh, high-quality veggies, and they also cook eggs to order. All in all, highly recommended.

Clean, comfy, and excellent customer service

Excellent customer service! We were treated like VIPs our entire stay, and they even let us check in early. My only complaint would be that the wifi connection was not very strong in our room.

Had to ask for my room to be changed twice

I was booked into the wrong type of room, apparently because of Expedia not providing relevant information. Then the next room turned out to be had a big fluffy damp patch on the wall. After some "google translate" exchanges (stuff doesn't speak English beyond basics" our room was changed for the second time and this time it was OK (beside broken shower head that was fixed on the second day of our stay). Also breakfast are very basic, no milk for coffee (only soy milk).
