The location is very nice but ....

Pros: The view and nature is very unique. The staff is friendly though overworked!
Cons: There should be more showers at beach and pool. The management of the restaurants is not very professional.
We went to Huatulco in a big family group which included couples, families with small children and grandparents. Following is the review: Couples: Forget it. Neither the food, nor the pools are suited for couples. The beach is OK. Grandparents: Probably worse than for couples. Families with small children: OK, the hotel is small which means that everything is close by. The staff is friendly and try to accommodate you in any way possible. But, in general, the hotel is understaffed, meaning the employees are overworked. The facilities are old and dated. Entertainment is very basic. And the beach is too dangerous for kids or older people.

Cons: Get the kids out of the adult pool. If it is an adult pool it should be 18 and over. Improve the food.
Location: The location was perfect. Just 45 pesos to get into town by taxi. We did a taxi tour of the area, a boating trip, and a cooking class 20 mins. away.
For the most part we really liked the hotel. The food was hit and miss. Some days it was really good others not good at all. We actually ended up eating in town quite a bit as the food in town was much better. We were very disappointed that children (anywhere from in diapers to teenagers) were allowed in the adults only pool. There is a very large children's pool and no reason they should be in the adult pool. The drinks were not very strong. Another issue we had was that we requested a King bed and when we arrived we were told that there would not be any king beds available until Wednesday, which I find very hard to believe as the hotel was only about half full on Sunday. The only way we were able to get a king bed was by upgrading to their premium package (approximately $70 a night extra for both of us). I feel like this was just a big gimmick to charge us more money. We spoke to many other guests that experienced the same issue. The $500 hotel credit was also a gimmick as it was no more than getting a percentage off of other services that the resort offered. Lucrecia, the person that cleaned our room, was great. We had cute towel art everyday and she left us personalized notes telling us to have a good day or wishing us a safe journey home.

Pros: hotel was very nice not too big easy to get around
Cons: Music around the adult pool. More activities
Location: If your going for night life not the place to go. Nice small town not far away for trinket shopping
Overall had a great time. Would have liked to have had more music during day at adult pool. As well as not a lot of activities. Found the theatre to be a little late and no night life, which was not all that bad considering after day in sun was not able to stay awake past 9. Hotel and staff were great no complaints.

DON'T RESPECT RESERVATION?

Nice place to stay

We had premium room 349, it was in the front of the hotel with a large balcony and an amazing view. The room was large and great amenities in the bathroom. Little mini fridge was stocked everyday. Great beach and the water is so warm to swim in. Very close to town and other communities. Taxis are very inexpensive here so you can get anywhere for a good price. We explored many different beaches. Did a private boat tour of the private bays by going to Santa Cruz and talking to one of the boat operators. The buffet food at the hotel was ok. I preferred eating at the restuarants at the hotel and enjoyed all of them. Nice place to stay not sure if I would go back there, but I always like to try different hotels anyways.

Extremely Beautiful

My husband and I had an amazing experience at this hotel. We highly recommend an ocean view room. The room was cozy and had every necessity we needed. It was an all-inclusive package which made it worth it. We did not have to leave the hotel to grab food since the food was included. The staff was amazing, shout out to the restuarant staff (Jesus) at La Tortuga. Great customer service. Spa was amazing too! They had some great discounts throughout the week. Yessica was the best massage therapist I've had! The beach was clean and water was crystal clear, thank you Alexander for serving the most amazing cocktails on the beach. The majority of the staff speak English, if needed.

Nice hotel, right on the bay

Beautiful spot, clean, pretty good facilities and good food for an all inclusive, especially the reserve ahead Mexican restaurant. However, service on the whole was bossy and unhelpful. Anything one asked for seemed like it was such an extra burden for the staff. Staff was more liable to tell you what you can and cant do rather than smooth your stay. Not a great hotel for babies.

Very nice! Hotel staff very amicable! Dinning at their different restaurants very refreshing for an all inclusive hotel.
