The hotel is very clean and modern. Our room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was huge and very comfortable. It was also very peaceful. My only criticism is there's no tea & coffee making facility's in the room. If you like an early morning brew then pack your travel kettle.
Room service was good and at a fair price as was the mini bar. It was nice to have a free to use room safe as well.
The reception staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Their English was also very good, far better than my Spanish, sadly.
Altogether a great, comfortable location to visit the great city of Madrid.

The hostal is very basic. The room was clean, but spartan. However, we did have our own tiny bathroom. The water was hot, plentiful, and with good water pressure. The staff was very helpful, although one man did not speak any English so having some knowledge of Spanish would be very helpful. Given its great location within walking distance of the Prado, other art museums, and the Plaza del Sol on a fairly quiet street, it was a very good value.

We are a family of 5 and stayed here for 4 nights. The apartment is comfortable and spacious. Beds and bedding are very comfortable. FYI - There is no daily housekeeping. This was not an issue for us except we would have liked an option for fresh towels. The location is great - within walking distance to all the major sights including a short walk to the Atocha train station. Great restaurants close by.

The Urban Hotel was a slightly mixed experience. The staff were helpful and friendly at all times. The rooms were not very large overall and we upgraded to a Junior Suite which was the size of a normal room in other hotels. The Air Conditioning in the room was good. There is no pay tv or movie system which the staff acknowledged was a drawback. The staff offered a DVD player and some DVDs instead. The rooftop bar and pool area was not big enough to accommodate residents and people coming in from outside. This became a particular problem in the evenings. Not enough sun loungers around the pool with people having to use mats etc. There isn't enough places to eat within the hotel - and the glass bar was the only place to go apart from the rooftop terrace. For some reason the film Bladerunner is played continuously in the glass bar which was a little odd. It's a contemporary hotel which had its own character however it wouldn't be to everybody's taste. Breakfast was good however at a cost of €26 per person. The hotel is marketed on Expedia as being for people of 18years old and over however this is not the case. There were quite a few young children staying there during our stay. This is quite important if you want a child free stay which we had hoped for and chose the hotel on that basis.
