Nice hotel in an historic old coaching inn

Posted May 17, 2017
Right in the centre of an attractive, historic ancient market town. Very friendly staff. Hotel building is 500 years old. Charming, but as you'd expect, dated. Great value for money. Large rooms. Comfortable beds.

Lovely Hotel in Huntingdon

Posted Apr 3, 2017
Pros: Location was excellent and the staff - very friendly and helpful. Car park on site - free to guests
Cons: Sofa bed - OK for couple of nights, but I wouldn't want to sleep on one much longer
Stayed 2 nights at this hotel in centre of Huntingdon. Was ideal spot for visiting relatives and worked really well. Staff were super and really helpful. Room was on ground floor, which was great for my elderly mother. The room was good, but too warm ! (not the hotel's fault) we had to turn the heating off altogether and still very warm in March ! Didn't want to open window as was straight onto the road outside. There was a double bed and a sofa bed in the room. Bathroom was very clean and a good size - just a shower in there, no bath. But altogether this was a lovely place and I would certainly stay there again

A very old big former coaching Inn .

Posted Mar 14, 2017
Pros: There were good choices for breakfast which were served with helpful smiles. The main stairs have a disabled seat up and down it for those who need it.
Cons: The reception and bar were unkempt because of an earlier function. Many smokers gathered on the entry steps made it difficult to get luggage past them
Location: It is very easy to explore Huntingdon's traffic free center from the hotel.
It would be impossible to make the building into modern hotel. The creaking uneven floors the stairs steps and long corridors have to be thought of as having historic charm. The small en-suite bathroom has been adapted to its optimum. The room was large with enough heaters to make it warm . There is the low hum of a transformer at night.

Convenient for our needs, reasonble price.

The location and room were fine for the occasion, we attended a wedding at Hinchinbrook house. The room was comfortable but dated. The hotel could use some TLC but it was a nice roomy place. Not sure why the light bulbs were so dark it was difficult to get light into the room. The staff were very friendly but seem to be overstretched. One staff member was 'ultra' multi-tasking (bar, reception, dining area) which meant guest had to be patient and wait whilst he tried to attend to everyone's needs.

Hotel difficult to find in the Huntingdon one-way system. Bathroom radiator leaking badly - notified reception
