Perfect place to stay

Posted Jul 27, 2017
This is by far the best hotel we have stayed at in surf city. The staff were amazing, facilities excellent and location is perfect. Stayed in July with my teenage daughter and it met both our needs. Will stay again and recommend it to friends and family. Thank you everyone at the Shorebreak for making our trip so great xx

It felt like a vacation!

Posted Jul 25, 2017
Pros: Décor, staff, nightly happy hour and s'mores, ping pong table, comfortable bed and pillows
Cons: Overnight/valet fee is a bit steep.
Location: It's Huntington Beach!....why would you want to do anything else, but chill at the beach? Newport Beach and Balboa Island is a few minutes drive away
Splurged and decided to stay a couple of nights by the beach. The Shorebreak Hotel is in a nice location by the HB pier and main street where most of the shops and restaurants are. Everything is in walking distance. We rented a car and their overnight/valet was a bit steep at $35/night. There is an additional $30/day hotel fee and it covers borrowing beach chairs, nightly hosted wine happy hour, nightly s'mores -- definitely use their "complimentary" amenities as you're actually paying for them...if you're using them, I say it's worth the extra daily fee. I wish I had known about the hosted wine happy hour beforehand so we could've planned our schedule to incorporate it! :) The staff are professional and friendly....as to be expected at a high-end hotel. Love their décor and open room lobby which leads to their courtyard. Ping pong table in between lobby and courtyard was a nice touch for passing time. The gym is awesome! It's not your typical hotel gym. It has your usual treadmill and stationary bike, but it also had squat racks with rubber plates, jump ropes, chains, box (for box jumping), pull up bar, kettle bells, etc. -- think crossfit! It's a pet-friendly hotel and I believe all rooms are pet-friendly, but I didn't detect of any pet odor at all in our room (and I have a very sensitive nose). It's definitely a hip, trendy hotel. I would recommend splurging and staying here!

Perfect Ocean Front Location

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: We loved the room, the service, and the amenities.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The beach was literally a 2 minute walk. On the same street were eateries, stores and a CVS. We didn't need our car while staying in this hotel.
This hotel was awesome. The valet, bell hop service and front desk personnel were professional and extremely helpful. Our room was unmatched with a balcony and large window providing a view of the pier, stores, and most importantly the ocean. At the front desk we were given everything we needed for the 2 minute walk to the ocean (beach chairs, umbrellas, etc.). At night, the s'mores, large chess set and ping pong kept the kids happy as well as us adults. Our stay was absolutely perfect. We are already planning another visit to Huntington Beach next year and will definitely stay here again.

Excellent location and staff!

Posted Jul 10, 2017
Pros: The location and coffee bar in the morning
Cons: Offer rooms that don't allow pets
Location: Center of Huntington Beach near the pier and all the restaurants and shopping
The location is perfect right across from the HB pier and in the center of downtown. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The morning coffee bar, the afternoon wine hour and the s'mores at night over the fire pit were a nice addition to a clean, comfortable room. They have water coolers 24/7 in the lobby and games on the patio for both children and adults. The only negative for us was all the dogs in the hotel but if that doesn't bother you, then this is the perfect hotel to stay in beautiful Huntington Beach.

Great staff, great location

Posted Jul 10, 2017
We decided to pay a bit more then we would usually pay for a hotel to be close to the beach and holiday festival. It started out a bit rough, as they had oversold and did not have rooms that would fit my family of four. The front desk staff however, was extremely professional and friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we were satisfied with the solution. We were moved the next morning as promised into an amazing room with a beautiful view of the pier and ocean. Both rooms were very clean and nicely finished. Parking was expensive as it is everywhere, but again the attendants were great, and due to the location we never moved the car. Throughout our stay, we never met a staff person that wasn't outgoing and friendly. From front desk to bell staff to restaurant to valet they all were very professional and really seem to enjoy working for the hotel. The bill adjustments discussed on day one due to the room issue were on the bill at check out, no discussion needed. The location is amazing if you are a beach-goer. Literally steps to the pier and the great sands of Huntington Beach. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Huntington Beach, my family will stay there again in the future even though it was a bit above our normal price range.

Beautiful unique hotel, steps from the beach

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Decided last minute to spend our honeymoon in Huntington Beach and this place was by far the best bang for your buck! They were so accommodating since we booked last minute on getting us set up in the best room available which had a partial ocean view and over looking the street that leads you to the beach! Valet was so easy usually had our car ready in about 3-5 min. The staff was sooo nice and i loved that they had ping pong, cornhole and Smores available everyday as well as free beach rentals towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc. They even had beach cruisers available to rent for free which was fun to take up the beach path towards Newport😊 highly recommend staying here to anybody who's looking for a great location, fuss free relaxing beach experience.

Right in the Heart of Surf City

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: Proximity to the beach and pier is a plus. Main Street is a short walk away.
Location: Within walking distance is an array of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Sugar Shack has been a local stop since the 1960's and great for breakfast.
I recently spent a couple nights at Kimpton Shorebreak in Downtown Huntington Beach. It's about as close to the beach as you can get, right along PCH and only a block or so from the bustling Main Street area. The hotel is clean and the staff helpful. There's decent coffee in the mornings and wine tasting in the afternoons. The courtyard area provides a good hangout spot to sip morning coffee and check e-mail, etc. The only downside of that is that it can get a little noisy in the evenings, particularly if you have a room right off the courtyard area. Staff are customer-oriented and available to answer questions or give area recommendations. A walk away are Sancho's (breakfast burritos), Sugar Shack, Wahoo's Fish Tacos and Killarney + Gallagher's Irish Pubs. Be sure to walk along the beachfront and stick your toes in the Pacific Ocean.
