Staff went above and beyond

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Pros: The staff
Location: Perfect location on the beach and main town
The front desk staff were not only very professional, but went out of their way to make sure we were happy and taken care of. Our room maid was very personable and was exceptional. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay.

Extremely Loud and Expensive

Posted Nov 2, 2017
We booked the oceanfront king room for Sat Oct 28th for our anniversary. The room was very nice with a large patio. We didn’t get to the room till about 1000pm. Went out to relax on the balcony and found it t be extremely loud. We proceeded to go back in the room and realized the door did not lock. Ok so we’re on the 3rd floor so we we not to extremely concerned with our safety but it is a safety issue. Plus since it did not lock the doors did not close properly. So needless to say inside the room was super loud. We could even hear the people on the street talking. We maybe got 4 hours of sleep. We informed the front desk staff of the issues and all we got was “We will tell management”. Not even an I’m sorry or any type of compensation!! This room cost us $450 for the night plus a $30 Resort fee plus a $35 valet fee since there is no where to park downtown. So it ended up costing us $510 for about 12 hours of using the room and getting no sleep. Pretty frustrating to pay this amount and not even get a relaxing night of sleep!!

Great location

Posted Oct 23, 2017
Great hotel and staff- stayed just one night- there was a 40th Bday party right next to our room- really loud until 1115 or so- a little annoying with my whole family there- the next day the staff was very apologetic and went out of there way to tell me sorry and removed some fees so in the end the staff made up for it- Other than that- great hotel- great location close to the beach. I would stay here again- I would just make sure and check for party’s and request a room as far away as possible from the banquet room

Short break at Shorebreak

Posted Sep 24, 2017
As part of a mini Californian road trip we spent a couple of days in Huntington Beach. We found the Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel online and were attracted by the previous reviews and gallery images, so we were excited to visit. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by very friendly, warm and welcoming staff, at the valet, front desk, restaurant waitress.. and this continued throughout our two day stay with everyone we met from the hotel. In terms of service, you couldn't get any better!! The additional complementary touches add to the sense of feeling completely taken care of, s'mores after 5pm, wine hour (our personal favourite!), ice cold fruit waters and hot coffees in the morning, all much appreciated. The resort fee also included everything we could want for chillin' at the beach, which is literally a two min walk over the road from the Hotel. On top of perfect staff we also loved the decor throughout the hotel, a really interesting mix of unusual but comfortable furniture, cute little furnishings, great surf imagery and a very relaxed and inviting atmosphere. We sampled the food at breakfast and dinner, on both occasions the food and service was excellent and the condition of our room was also to a high standard in amenities and cleanliness. All in all, we couldn't fault our stay and Huntington Beach is our favourite part of California so far, the beach is great, the shops are great if you like your surf brands and all the bars and eateries we visited were awesome! ❤️

Great hotel next to the beach/pier and amazing restaurante nearby. This is our second time at this hotel. The staff always friendly and helpful. The hotel offer complementary beach supplies and bicycle to use. We stayed during the final weekend of pro surfing competition. Fun times!

Great hotel near the beach

Posted Sep 7, 2017
Pros: Everything!
Cons: I know it's right on the beach - but a pool would be a great addtion.
Location: Main Street - Shops, Restaurants - BEACH!
Kimpton Shorebreak was a great place to stay. Right in the midst of downtown HB - but with it's own great facilities - S'mores, Wine hour, Ping Pong, Giant Chess - it's a great place to unwind and enjoy all that HB has to offer.

THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BOOK

Posted Sep 6, 2017
Pros: location is center of everything
Cons: parking and direction to the place
Location: center of down town, lots of shopping and great nightlife and the food is great
Came there about 2 hours early before check in time, totally understand that they didnt have the room ready. gave them our cell number and tell us when the room is ready so we can walk around check in time is at 4pm no phone call. came back to the hotel and to the front desk, you are not going to believe this, the clerk said to me the room is not ready for another hour, so i was getting upset already, i figured give them a chance to fix it. then he approached us and told me that the room is missing the one that we booked a week in advance. at this moment bad things came out of my mouth and i told them give me my money back. they then decided to give us a different room. ok so i stayed there. warning they need to train their staffs better especially their housekeeping crew, they would walk down the hall way in a group and loud, they will not move out of the way for the guests. what is new, wait till you get into the elevator, there are two door and when both door open it lead to all kind of trash and bags and boxes all over the place. i definately would never recommend any one to this place.
