OK hotel. Not sure if El Gouna has anything better
Posted Jul 14, 2016
Look, I was good with almost everything except the ridiculous towel arrangement. They give you these towel cards, and if you don't give them all back they want 200LE.
I'm not stealing towels. And it's not the money. It's the concept. Kids don't know about the card. And there isn't always someone at the towel cart (I had to get the cards myself twice). So, it should be thought out better.
Then my Amex and Visa weren't working there. They claimed it was my cards. But they worked at Oberoi (Sahl Hasheesh) just perfectly. Which makes me think they are equipped to deal with foreign visitors. Even when there was a connection issue, Oberoi staff just called it in and handled it. The staff at Steinberger looked at me like "What's next?"
Done with El Gouna. If you want a slice of heaven in Egypt, it's Oberoi. Sahl Hasheesh in general.
