Clean hotel but very poor service

To be absolutely fair, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the pool is lovely. Don't go in the jacuzzi though, it was filthy.
The biggest issue we had with this hotel is that the reception made us wait to get a room, and we weren't quite sure what we were waiting for. We arrived at 9 in the morning after a long, sleepless flight (with my dad and sister) and all we wanted was to change and nap. Our booking was paid in full and they were expecting our arrival.
Half an hour later, we started nagging for more details. The reception said "please have a seat, we'll give you a key shortly, we're just preparing the room".
We eventually got very restless, nagged some more, and eventually found out that they expected us to stay waiting for 3 hours until someone else checked out - only because they wanted to put us in two rooms next to each other. Anywhere else on earth, a 3 hour wait is not "shortly". And if you ask me, sleeping in a room next to my dad's is not worth a three hour wait at the reception.
Nothing at this hotel screamed of quality customer service. The next time I'm in Gouna, I'm trying something else.
