Used to be nice

The hotel needs renovation big time. The plumbing and odor at the bathroom were terrible. The staff was not consistently good.

Perfect Hotel

Stay in Gouna

Pros: Restaurant daily menu
Cons: Nothing
Location: Excellent
Check in is very easy, welcome staff, excellent location, facilities and excellent food menues , I enjoyed my stay, it was one of the best vacations for me and my family

Bad experience

I had senior citizens and requested to be close to the restaurant and the main facilities of the hotel and the reception staff insisted to put at the far back end of the hotel !!! Food variety and quality was poor due. It was a holiday season and the staff specially the reception couldn't handle the crowd. However the price was reasonable for such inappropriate experience which I will not repeat again

OK hotel. Not sure if El Gouna has anything better

Look, I was good with almost everything except the ridiculous towel arrangement. They give you these towel cards, and if you don't give them all back they want 200LE. I'm not stealing towels. And it's not the money. It's the concept. Kids don't know about the card. And there isn't always someone at the towel cart (I had to get the cards myself twice). So, it should be thought out better. Then my Amex and Visa weren't working there. They claimed it was my cards. But they worked at Oberoi (Sahl Hasheesh) just perfectly. Which makes me think they are equipped to deal with foreign visitors. Even when there was a connection issue, Oberoi staff just called it in and handled it. The staff at Steinberger looked at me like "What's next?" Done with El Gouna. If you want a slice of heaven in Egypt, it's Oberoi. Sahl Hasheesh in general.

Amazing hotel, with the best lagoon in Gouna!

Pros: The staff were very friendly! Specially Hussein the barman
Enjoyed every minute of it, the food was good and fresh, the staff were very friendly, and the suite was clean and comfy

There were ants over the bed so we called the reception to send us someone from the house keeping staff who took more than 30 minutes to reach the room. After they sprayed the room with insecticide the next day once again we found ants over the bed and so we complained again and we moved to another room.

Nice hotel

There is a room for improvement, the hotel rooms rate can be considered high avarage so better service is expected. No transportation facilities from hotel to the attractions, ground transportation nor the hotel. The buffit is not that good to

Clean hotel but very poor service

Pros: The room had a nice little patio.
Cons: The customer service.
Location: It was a couple of kilometers away from town and they provide a shuttle service.
To be absolutely fair, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the pool is lovely. Don't go in the jacuzzi though, it was filthy. The biggest issue we had with this hotel is that the reception made us wait to get a room, and we weren't quite sure what we were waiting for. We arrived at 9 in the morning after a long, sleepless flight (with my dad and sister) and all we wanted was to change and nap. Our booking was paid in full and they were expecting our arrival. Half an hour later, we started nagging for more details. The reception said "please have a seat, we'll give you a key shortly, we're just preparing the room". We eventually got very restless, nagged some more, and eventually found out that they expected us to stay waiting for 3 hours until someone else checked out - only because they wanted to put us in two rooms next to each other. Anywhere else on earth, a 3 hour wait is not "shortly". And if you ask me, sleeping in a room next to my dad's is not worth a three hour wait at the reception. Nothing at this hotel screamed of quality customer service. The next time I'm in Gouna, I'm trying something else.
