Don't go there.Posted Jul 24, 2017
Location: Spending time on beaches and walk around the beautiful town.
We never got a decent sleep because we could feel the springs digging through the mattresses. The drain on the bathroom floor had a horrible sewage smell coming out of it. We could also hear some bubble noises from it every time the people in the room next door used their toilet and sinks. On our second day, we noticed the cleaning lady had only changed the shower mat and hadn't given us any fresh towels. I tried to call the reception but nobody picked up . As a result, I went to the reception and asked if we could please have some fresh towels. When we returned to our room from sightseeing a few hours later, we still hadn't been given any fresh towels. I then went back to the front desk where the receptionist told me that "Our cleaner told me that she did put fresh towels". They then said that if we still wanted fresh towels we would have to wait in the lobby until someone had a chance to deliver some. When we were finally given towels on the third day of our stay we found that one had a massive rip in it and was unusable. The food provided was tasteless and comparable to bad school dinners. By this time we felt we had had enough and decided to switch to an other hotel. Staying in Hotel Lavanda was our worst experience ever.

It's okPosted Aug 25, 2016 on Hotels
We took the long walk around the road to get to this hotel as the information desk at the bus station was useless. The easiest way to get here is take the water taxi from the ferry or from the waterfront in the town centre (10 Kuna). It stops at the wharf a two minute walk from the hotel. There were a lot of family's staying at this hotel, so lots of noisy kids. But it is quiet at night (apart from one night when they had loud music playing until 1am!) The mattress on our bed was very worn, when you lean on it you can almost touch the bottom of the mattress. The bed was also very squeaky. The room was very cramped as there was an unnecessary table in there as well as a spare single bed. The windows were only thin singe glazing and were also cracked and rattled whenever the inconsiderate neighbours banged the balcony door closed. The air-conditioning was fairly new and worked very well though. The shower was also good, very powerful spray. The swimming pool was clean, but a little small. You could still reserve a sun lounger at 9am if you wanted, but not that many left by that time. There is only one bar near the hotel and that was dead. But the drinks at the pool were cheaper than in town if you do like a drink, they just didn't have the best beer on tap. Breakfast wasn't bad, plenty of choice. Breads, fruit, cereals, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, some chewy sausages, ham and cheese. The juices were not very nice though, made from concentrate.

Dated decor but lovely location near the sea.Posted Jul 26, 2016
Hotel is very dated but we were in a very large room with 2 bedrooms (although we only booked a double). Very clean, good aircon. Couldn't t get wifi to work at all on my phone. Lots of kids so couldn't use the pool but great location next to the sea so went there instead. Staff's English was quite poor so communication was difficult.

Not at all as advertisedPosted Jun 24, 2016 on CheapTickets
Pros: Staff was pleasant, dinner buffet was ok
Cons: Stop telling the internet you are a four star hotel when really you are an old, needs-improvement Motel6 in KickaHobo Arkansas...
Had this hotel advertised itself as a budget, no-frills, one star property in a peaceful location, I'd have given it 4/4 stars. It hint that low bar perfectly, although I still wasn't happy with the grossly stained carpets, and AC that didn't work in 2 of our three rooms. But had it been honest in the description about what it is-- forgivable. I am so tired of properties like this being advertised as 4-Star hotels! It again goes to show that travelers can't trust anything a non-major chain hotel says or writes about itself. The staff however was great and more than accommodating.

Despite major flaws, I'd still go back.Posted Aug 25, 2015 on Hotels
Despite having literally the worst mattress on a bed I've ever seen or slept on in my life, despite looking at the parking lot from my balcony, and despite getting really sick after eating at the buffet breakfast, I really enjoyed my stay here. It was so quiet and peaceful. And so much of this place reminded me of simpler times in my childhood...yep, I would come back. I really would.

Needs remodelingPosted Jul 18, 2015
Pros: It was close to the ocean.
Cons: They need to completely remodel this hotel and provide friendlier service!
This hotel is sub-standard and I do NOT recommend it. There was no air-conditioning, and my room had direct morning sun! By 8:00 it was already too hot to stay in the room (with 40C midday heat). Hotel staff was not very friendly. They have a pool, but do not give pool towels and only gave me one bath towel.

Good location but hotel needs updatingPosted Jun 25, 2014
Hotel facilities and services do not match the wonderful setting by the sea with big pine trees.

We arrived on a late ferry from Split. It was hard to navigate at 10:30 in the evening. I had hoped there was a transfer at the dock waiting however there was no van pick up. We took a taxi that charges100 kuna. We enjoyed our visit and the hotel arranged for our transfer back to the ferry with no problems. If you arrive late, be prepared for no transportation.
