Bye Bye, Estelar! See ya never!

Pros: The location, and the pool is nice.
Cons: They need to update the place physically and they need customer service training. Its like they just didn't want to help me, because work.
Location: Ibague is interesting town. Strong musical heritage.
The Estelar is supposed to guarantee good customer service, and although I am a frequent traveller at that hotel, I was just treated like some dumb tourist they could squeeze. I would like to start by saying I am bilingual, so none of this was a language problem. Here we go! 1 No do not disturb sign and none was provided although I asked. We were awoken 3 times during a weekend stay by the staff. 2 The room door had paint missing on the outside, and the security chain setup on the inside had screws loose. 3 Slow room service. Requested bottle opener 1x, and ice another time, and each time it took about an hour. 4 I mistakenly made the reservation for only 1 person. On Expedia, the 2nd person would have cost $4 per night. At check-in, it $12 per night. When I asked for a discount, showing my reservation included breakfast for 2, I was told that meant breakfast for 2 days, not for 2 people. BS. 5 There was a dispute over the taxes at check-out. You have to pay a VAT if you stay in the country for 90+ days. At check-in, I used my passport card to check in, so I didn't show my entry stamp. At check-out, I was presented with a bill including the tax. OK, I had a scanned copy of my passport & entry stamp on my computer to prove I was under 90 days, but then they switched tactics. The 2nd guest in my room was a Colombian national, so I would have to pay. In previous stays, we never had to pay, as long as the room was in the foreigners name and the foreigner paid.

Fantastic stay

Pros: The outdoor areas are great. Pool. Tennis court. Green spaces.
Cons: Perhaps bar services at pool. It's was very busy with only one team member on duty.
Location: The location is great with not much noises. Also the mountains view are just stunning. The hotel was busy with families and businesses people. great.
We always stay in this hotel for at least one night while visiting Colombia, the services is always great at both restaurants, with live music at the Italian one during dinner at the weekends. the pools is perfect for families and adults. My kids love playing in the pool and green spaces. Rooms had been refreshed and are looking nice. The check out at 1pm means you have plenty of time to enjoy the swimming pool after breakfast. Lunch tim was very enjoyable food was delicious. Great head chef. My trucha with Mariscos was to excellent. Looking forward our next stay.

Great amenities: big pool, 3 hot tubs, tennis court, fitness center and game room! Rooms were comfortable and food was good.

Beautiful hotel. The best in Ibague

This was our second visit to Ibague. Last trip we stayed in different hotels included Ambala and Casa Morales, but this hotel makes the difference. It's so awesome to see places like this with high standars in Ibague. The hotel is very pretty and clean. We were lucky to stay in a big nice room in front of the pool. This room had a huge patio with tables and chairs. Very nice when you have family and friends visiting. The pool, the gym and other facilities are nice as well, but we didn't like the pool and Jacuzzi schedule. You can access to it at 9 am and they close at 8pm; however, they start the maintenance one hour before they close and you can not use it. Basically you have pool only until 7pm. All the staff is nice and friendly, willing to help you with everything. They have two restaurants. The Italian restaurant is nicer than the bistro one... the food is just okay. If you are staying more than a couple of nights in Ibague, we recommend you to visit way nicer restaurants with better prices like "el ilustre, o altavista" In general the hotel was nice. We like it a lot and recommend it to everybody.

Awful!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible!!! My son and niece got Salmonella from the breakfast eggs! The manager didn't assume any responsibility for any thing. The worst service! NEVER BACK THERE!!!! Maybe 2 stars for the hotel. Awful experience!!!!
