An original stay in a lovely medieval castle surrounding by Bourgogne vineyard. Confortable pool and garden. Good restaurant with local products. But the overall standing does not worth 4 stars as the staff miss a bit of professionalism and room are quite simple. Maybe a bit overpriced.

A beautiful old chateau in a quiet location. Excellent restaurant. Good size room, with very large and comfortable bed and pillows. Good quality bed linen, towels and bathrobes.

quality service in the hills of burgundy

The day staff at the hotel & restaurant are very poor, the evening restaurant staff are efficient & professional. Rooms were often in serviced until very later afternoon despite a please make up my room door tag displayed. Breakfast staff were blind to the need of replacement items at the buffet or attending to tables. Lack of bathroom ammenities was disappointing as was the lack of lights in hallway and bathroom due to electrical fault.

We arrived at the Chateau which looked fabulous to be told we hD been moved to a sister hotel. The hotel claimed to have tried to contact us, if they had we would not have driven from Manchester. This was part of our 30 wedding anniversary - what can I say

Nice location, but improvements needed.
Room was very comfortable but Receptionist was not very knowledgable. Dinner in the restaurant was also quite average food and the warm starters were cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen.

Heavenly! Absolutely gorgeous old hotel set in the little village of Ige. We had two rooms for our family - both beautifully decorated in traditional French style and large comfy beds. We very much enjoyed the pool, gardens and eating delicious dinner and breakfast on the very pretty terrace overlooking the river. Expensive but really fabulous - would highly recommend for a nights stay.

Overall a beautiful place quintessentially French stunning grounds but...the service was terrible checking in and out, answering customer enquires annoyed and very unhappy. Dinner service was excellent but breakfast not really. Had hoped based on reviews and 4 star star status would be premium experience but clearly hotel struggling with staff etc.

potentially a great hotel . couple of suggestions
we thought the shower facilities a bit primitive for this class of hotel - either a shower alone or a bath alone with a wand is better. perhaps a further inside 'recovery room' separate from the bedroom and dining room certainly - for me - to have some english language tv? (Maybe there was, but i couldn't find it the kindness and attentiveness of the staff was a great feature. they were all terrific!

This castle will make you feel you are in a movie!
This Hotwl should be a 6 stat. An actual castle restore that mix modern with style. Staff exceeded our expectations each interaction was a delight. It’s 4 hours from Paris ina village that is hidden behind other villages a real gem. The local wine is delicious and reasonable. It’s a must go place in France we were the only Americans all other guests were French. Make sure to have the 4 course dinner the chef will surprise you!

We enjoyed a splendid evening and overnight at this hotel, which we had not visited for many years and has changed hands in the meantime. The room was comfortable for a single night and very clean. The gourmet restaurant was exceptional for cuisine, service and value.

Character Hotel, great food & service, no air con.
Quiet village, in beautiful surroundings. Hotel is an old castle/chateau and as such I would check whether or not your room is easily accessible. Service was excellent and the food delicious, however no air conditioning - so uncomfortably hot in summer - would recommend for a 1 or 2 night stay. Good wifi throughout.

Dated but food still excellent
We have stayed here several times and, as we get older find it less and less convenient. Room decor is dated and in need of upgrade, second floor rooms up a spiral staircase less and less appealing and old short beds - I am 6 feet 2 inches - frankly uncomfortable. The restaurant however partially makes up by maintaining a very high standard for dinner though breakfast was second division - hot food warmed up for long periods and never topped up.

Expensive hotel with first class restaurant
Fascinating spot but overpriced. Hotel is a little "tired". Reception unfriendly, no porter or lift. A hard climb up narrow circular staircase for the elderly. At 30C it was extremely hot. A mobile air con unit was useless, little more than a fan, and sleep was hard to come by. Bathroom good. We decided not to pay €36 extra for breakfast and headed off. The restaurant was a different matter. It occupies the whole ground floor so there are no public rooms other than this to use. Food was first class and the "chateau menu" good value. Come here to eat but don't stay. You can do much better in Cluny.

Beautiful chateau from the 13th century.
We love this place. This is the second time we stayed here. First time was for part of our honeymoon and this last time was for our anniversary. This place lived up to our memories. The food is excellent with a michelen star. Special place. There is a train plus taxi that you can help you reach this destination. We drove the first time and this time took a train.

Our treat in the Chateau tower.
One night stay on journey south. It was a real treat for us to stay in Chateau d'Ige with lots of wows and gasps from my wife and son on arrival. The suite was in a tower with our sons room upstairs via a spiral staircase which was great fun. The only slight demerit was that the staff were too busy to bring wine to our room when requested but this was a minor issue. Restaurant was also superb. Just what was needed to provide a welcome break en-route.

We stayed for a night and we had dinner at the restaurant, everything was perfect. The dinner in the fireplace room was wonderful. We had foie gras in a jacket of crushed hazelnuts, Poulet de Bresse and Souffle au Grand Marnier. All delicious. It was a great stop on the way from Paris to the French Riviera, we will definitely come back

We stayed at the Chateau D'Ige on the final night of our honeymoon travelling around Europe. The Chateau is a stunning building nestled is lovely location in the country side outside Macon. The room and general interior of the chateau was wonderful whilst the staff were very friendly and keen to ensure we enjoyed our short stay. As a guest you automatically have a table reserved for you at dinner in the Michelin guide listed restaurant. In summer you are able to dine outside beside the pond and gardens. Needless to say the food was amazing! The hotel is easily accessed from the motorway whilst Lyon airport is only around an hour and halves drive away. We'd thoroughly recomend the Chateau D'Ige for a romantic long weekend or base to explore the vineyards of the region.

Fascinating & charming
This beautiful old chateau is in a wine producing small French village that is absolutely beautiful. This hotel has gorgeous garden areas & grounds, meticulously maintained, the perfect romantic getaway spot. The chef at the restaurant is exceptional, even with vegetarian cuisine. This hotel is one of the most charming & beautiful places we have ever stayed. The staff is wonderful, speak English & so very helpful with check-in, luggage, etc. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a truly unique & relaxing stay.
