Position of hotel.
Friendly staff. Noisy people in the café opposite but this was not your fault. On the other hand, we were well placed for seeing places of interest and walking to bus-stops.

My go-to Intra-Muros hotel
Great little find in the centre of the walled city. No air con but an excellent floor fan delivered a cool room. My room on the second floor faced rear gardens rather than main streets and was quieter than some hotels I have experienced here. The staff whom I encountered in my overnight stay were very courteous and helpful. This is now my go-to Saint Malo hotel

The staff were all pro-actively helpful: they posted cards for us and had no problems leaving baggage and provided free water for our trip home. Breakfast service was excellent.

Reception area and breakfast are OK. The owners are very nice poeple. But I do not understand how this hotel can currenlty charge these prices for third-quality rooms with extremely old, uncomfortable beds and frankly worn-out installations. They state that starting december they will renovate their rooms - but as a matter of fact I had to pay full price for absolutely uncomfortable rooms at this moment. Frustratung.

We are happy that you thought the owners were nice and that you think the reception area and breakfast were ok, however we have to admit we are a little bit surprised you are frustrated with the rooms considering we have talked to you throughout your stay and only the last night was mentioned the rooms and bed were a bit small (2 beds of 90x200) but we wish you have mentioned it before so we could’ve tried to make your stay better. Great location
Location within the old city walls was perfect. Staff was extremely accommodating. Don’t miss the great little quirky cafe/bar just around the corner, with every inch of wall space covered in memorabilia.

Great hotel in a central location!
We had a great time at Bristol Union! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and were full of suggestions and ideas. The room was clean and simple, with all the needed amenities. The location is unbeatable, right in the center of the city. I highly recommend it!

Excellent value. A friendly small hotel that made me feel very welcome and at home - great hosts. A good situation near the centre of the walled town with loads of restaurants on your doorstep. An attractive, fresh and generous breakfast. I strongly recommend it!

A delightful treat
A little gem, where the owners and Staff made us feel at home. The rooms were comfortable, modern and spotless. The buffet breakfast was a real treat; the large variety of warm French breads was a real temptation together with the brioche which was a revelation! But beyond these culinary delights in which the French have no equal, the warmth of French hospitality in this establishment is in a class of its own. I have stayed in four other hotels in St Malo, and Bristol Union wins when it comes to friendly, personal service, and for the overall quality of the product. I just hope I manage to get a room next time!

Central location fine but noisy mornings and late at night. Very Two Star accommodations with a charge for an extra pillow! 40 watt bulb in the v. small bathroom so impossible to do make up and the floor flooded when showering. Thin towels and no air con. Friendly service but would not return or recommend.

Loved the town and loved the hotel! Right in the middle of St. Malo it is ideally located. The room was very very small but we had expected that so we were not deterred, plus we were out all day and evening enjoying the town so the room size did not bother us a bit. There was a slight odor from the drain in the bathroom the first night but it dissipated quickly when we open the windows. The service was great, very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bit of a ways away. We stayed an extra night as we had enjoyed the town and hotel so much. It is on our list of places to revisit again in the future.

Hotel in great location in the walled city, staff very friendly and check-in very efficient. The bedroom was tiny, the bathroom was also split, with shower and wash basin in one corner and a separate loo designed for a tiny person. Not possible to use it with the door closed! Classic French attitude to customer comfort. Wouldn't stay here again. Also, rate quoted by Hotels.com was not the same as we were charged as city taxes were not included in the original booking.

Tout c’est très bien passé, le personnel de l’hôtel est extrêmement gentil et arrangeant, la chambre était très belle et confortable et le petit déjeuner vaut absolument le détour !
