Good choice for the 10:30 ferry to PortsmouthPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: Position & smartness
Cons: Pillows were a bit thin. And we didn't like the automated taps in the washhand basin as it wouldn't turn on to rinse a toothbrush for example.
Location: Walk the ramparts, eat in the restaurants and generally feast your eyes on St Malo.
Great position and parking not too inconvenient. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Great restaurants nearby. Our room was immaculate in design, practicality & cleanliness.

You must have been in a room dedicated to handicap people where the taps have to be that way

Pleasantly surprisedPosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: The lay-out of the toilet facilities, but that might not be possible.
Location: Great location, shops, restaurants, places of interest all on the door-step.
We were very worried about parking as all car parks were completely full when we entered the old city. Pleasant surprise to be offered parking facilities behind the hotel at only 12 Euros for the night. Small, smart hotel, obviously recently refurbished and scrupulously clean. Our room was very good, if small, which we expected in a hotel in the old city. The only fault we could find was that the en suite facilities, although very modern, were in two parts, the toilet quite separate and on the opposite side of the room from the wash-basin, bath, etc. Not ideal, but as we were only staying for one night, it did not spoil it for us. Breakfast the next morning was a very good continental type at a reasonable price. Check-in and check-out were smooth and flawless. Altogether, a really good experience.

Great hotel right in the heart of this CityPosted Sep 3, 2015
Pros: The room, staff, bar and breakfast.
Cons: Told that the a/c was limited to the 'lounge' area of the suite and that we should leave the dividing door open to the bedroom for greatest effect.
Location: Beaches, interesting walled city, Mont St Michel, the Marina, trips to the channel islands.
We stayed in this hotel after 43 consecutive nights in a camper van so we were looking for something special while remaining good value for money - we found it. The large room was excellent with a very comfortable bed and sofa bed. We found the staff attentive at all times but particularly on arrival when we had to off load bicycles and luggage from our van before parking it. We had an evening meal in a local restaurant but returned for drinks late in the evening where the staff were attentive once again. We has originally planned to have breakfast on the move as we felt that the hotel price was high for a buffet but once we had worked once that the buffet included a hot choice of eggs and bacon we changed our plans and were delighted that we had. This was a very enjoyable break from the van.

Très bel hôtel en plein cœur du quartier d'Intra Murros. La chambre était très confortable et les sanitaires très propres.

Good locationPosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The location, the pleasant helpful staff, the clean quiet rooms and the excellent breakfast choices.
Location: Beautiful beaches, walking the city wall, good sailing facilities and many restaurants and shops. Good location for traveling to other areas nearby.
We traveled as foot passengers and the Hotel was within walking distance of the ferry port. It was an excellent location.

A real disappointmentPosted Aug 23, 2015 on Hotels
Our stay was ruined right at the start , when we checked in. The receptionist was just so rude to us. Our room was very small.I had to walk sideways to get into bed. There wasn't even room for a bedside table on the other side of the bed! A big disappointment especially for a 4 star hotel. The hotel didn't even have a restaurant, just a breakfast room. This room had a permanent strange odour. We were told the hotel was full yet we hardly saw anyone there. Most of the time the reception desk was unsupervised! There was just no atmosphere. We were given a code to enter the hotel if we returned later than 11 o'clock at night. I would never stay here again and will tell friends to avoid it.

We are terribly sorry that you were not satisfied with your stay. Our hotel was audited in 2012 with the new French hotel standards and was awarded 4 stars. We have five categories of rooms and if you found your room to be too small, we would have offered you the opportunity to choose a larger room or suite. Obviously the prices increase with room size. Being located in the heart of the Old City, the vast majority of our clients prefer to discover the mulitude of restaurants less than 5m from the hotel. Room size as well as the fact that we do not have evening meals is quite clearly stated on our website to avoid any misunderstandings. Any additional questions may of course be adressed to us by email or by telephone. The reception desk is manned until midnight but of course if the receptionnist is accompaning guest to their rooms, she may not be present at each precise moment. For security reasons, we lock the front door after 11pm to allow the night watchman to make rounds in the hotel and avoid unwanted entries. We aim to please our guests and take note of your comments.

A Great Option for Intra MurosPosted Aug 18, 2015 on Hotels
This was a great hotel. The room was quite comfortable. The windows kept out almost all external street noise. The staff were phenomenally helpful. The only room issue was the shower was poorly designed and ended up with lots of water on the floor. The one issue with most of the Intra Muros hotels is the parking. The hotel offers a discounted price for the open lots just outside, which allows for in/out on the lot too. But if you are there in high(er) season, you will have difficulty in getting a spot in one of those lots. There is an underground lot with lots of space, but it is more money and does not have in/out privs. I would absolutely stay in this hotel again!
