Barefoot Beach Resort bay side of Gulf Blvd.Posted Aug 9, 2015 on Hotels
Rooms are as pictured. One of the buildings was being remodeled and we wish they would have told us in advance. We brought two couples. One couple was in one building and the other got placed in another building, on the complete opposite side of the complex. We had not asked to be close together so it was okay, but it was felt that it seemed strange that we could not have been placed further apart. We were told by staff that the guest club house was now just a place where they stored linen. The pool area was as pictured. The walk across to the dedicated beach access is nice that there is a designated crossing area. Pedestrians do not have to wait on traffic because you press a button, and traffic stops so you can cross. Management was okay, and did say they would look into issues that were reported. We were only there for three nights. Issues were minor. One side of the shower, as there are two shower heads, would not adjust to less than straight hot water. One of the tvs did not have reception. There were frequent storms in the area and may have contributed. We had booked through Hotels.com, and although we prepaid we were required to pay an unknown additional fee to stay. It was not a large sum though. We did like this place. We would stay here again. And we would recommend this place to others.

Great stay over July 4th weekend. Check in time a little too late 3pm would be better, 10am is too early to leave, 11 better.

A very nice place . . .Posted Jun 28, 2015 on Hotels
This area seemed to be quite densely packed, but not "crowded." The property is actually a condominium complex as opposed to a "hotel," which makes the overall feel "residential" as opposed to "resort." I had a one-bedroom unit that was quite large and fully equipped, (kitchen, living area, bedroom, bathroom). The hotel is easy to find, located on the inland side of Gulf Blvd. Beach access is across the street. Hotel staff was very friendly during my brief interactions. Check-in/check-out procedures were trouble free.

Nice hotel very close to the beachPosted May 26, 2015
Pros: Facilities were in very good shape, except for one of the ceiling fans, but the A/C worked like a charm.
Cons: Fix the A/C in the living room and clean the carpet in both bedrooms.
Location: Fantastic view, fantastic location. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shop, beach and pool. 5 min drive to pharmacy/gas.
I stayed at the Barefoot Beach Resort for Memorial Day weekend. Had it not been for the dirty carpet in one of the bedrooms, I would have given them an All-Around 5. My unit had a fantastic view of the Intercoastal with sailboats and the occasional dolphin family swimming by. Everything is closeby, from the resort's pool, to the beach access, to plenty of eateries. I recommend a morning walk to the local coffee shop. The Salt Rock is a great place for dinner and is located next door to the Barefoot Beach Resort. Facilities were in very good shape, except for one of the ceiling fans, but the A/C worked like a charm. Nearby Clearwater Beach was packed with people and cars this weekend, but Indian Rocks was not... by far. If you are looking for a relaxing place; this is it.

No view of the water, no private balconyPosted May 12, 2015
Pros: Really nothing stood out as a great feature.
Cons: The unit needs to be updated. The staff might want to offer replacement amenities upon request rather than charging $1 for a roll of toilet paper!
Location: The hotel is located on a nice stretch of Gulf Blvd that leads to all of the key beaches and has beach access across the street.
Unfortunately the room may as well have been in a motel; no private balcony, not on the waterway or even a view of the waterway or ocean. The air conditioner runs frequently and is very loud. The unit needs to be updated - the shower was old and did not appear that the unit is maintained very well. The one wicker dresser, to be used for all guests, had very worn drawers of which three would not even open and the 25" flat screen TV monitor almost fell off twice just opening the two drawers that would work. Unit was not vacuumed too thoroughly upon check-in and a few light bulbs were out in dining room chandelier - seems like an obvious item to check when room is being cleaned and prepped for next guests. The TV remote control did not work and as we later discovered, there wasn't even a battery in it; once again, seems like an easy item to add to the checklist when prepping the unit. The smoke detector in the bedroom was chirping from the moment we arrived but that can happen anywhere and the battery was replaced the next morning. Overall, just not what we had expected after having seen nice waterway pictures, etc. on the website.

Returning GuestsPosted May 12, 2015 on Hotels
We were returning guests to this resort, we'd stayed there the first time a year ago, and the location was perfect for the beach and only minutes from John's Pass where we intended to visit for the Pirate Festival, which is well worth seeing. The unit is a perfect size for us and our grandchildren, giving my daughters a well deserved Mother's Day off!! There were three things that would have made it even better, an extra bathroom (there's only one in the unit), bigger beds in the bedrooms, I think they're only "full size" a bit of a squeeze for two adults, and a new mattress on the pull out sofa, it was a little uncomfortable for the kids, so I would imagine an adult would be very uncomfortable. But it didn't spoil our stay and we will be back!
