What I liked about the hotel was, the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. What I didnt like was when we checked into the room, the floor was sticky. When I went to the front desk to ask someone to mop it, I was asked for my room number, he could not find me in The system so I had to show him my drivers license again. Also, the light went out in the room. It was nosey in the hallway.

Upon reserving g sent message stating would need a crib for an infant traveling with us. Called prior to our departure confirming a crib would be available and was told they had it ready for us. Upon arrival, the front desk employee was very disinterested in helping us and told us he would see if they had one but he didn’t think they did because, one of them had a torn mattress and the other one was broken. The facility was rundown and had to change rooms because the first room had dried crusty substance on the table and chair had been written on In Sharpie as well as the cork board in the room. We had to pay a surprise $100 fee for “incidentals” in case of damages to the room, waiting for this to be credited back to my account. The AM staff seemed nicer but not an enjoyable stay. Do not recommend

I booked a king suite but got there to a queen suite and they said it was nothing they could do because they were booked and I can only get discounted through Expedia. We couldn’t get clean towels for some reason we had to use the same ones for our whole stay

This hotel had great mattresses and pillows. It was clean. It’s supposed to be nonsmoking, but the lobby and hallways wreaked of marijuana.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY! We booked a room through Expedia to stay at this hotel for a major event in Indianapolis. At 3:30 pm on our check-in date, the hotel called us to inform us that, although we had reserved a room and confirmed, they did not have a room for us. The hotel did not offer to find us alternative accommodation, offer any compensation (other than a refund, which I have not yet received), or even any sympathy. When I asked the clerk to talk to his manager, I was placed on hold for five minutes only to be told that his manager was “on vacation,” which was almost certainly a lie. Then he told me that Expedia would be in touch to rebook us somewhere else. But that was also a lie. We never heard or received anything from Expedia either. We were left to scramble for an alternative and ended up staying well out of town in a tiny room because it was all that was an available. I cannot state more strongly — DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY! And if you are foolish enough to do so, you should consider packing a sleeping bag because there is a strong likelihood that you will be sleeping in your car. But whatever you do, don’t bother asking the clerk and his friends at this hotel for any help or compensation. It will not be forthcoming.

They overbooked the hotel, and we were given a single king bed instead of two queens. The staff were very pleasant, apologetic, and accommodating. Overall, the hotel was very clean, but ownership could stand to make some improvements. Again, the staff were fantastic.

Received a call when we were about ten minutes away from the hotel telling us that there was a “glitch” in the system with Expedia and they were overbooked, so they did not have a room for us. Not happy!!! We drove four hours to find that out. Found another hotel room after several calls, which cost us three times as much as the room booked through your site. Would love to be compensated, but guessing that won’t happen. Won’t be using Expedia again, that’s for sure! 😠😠😠

Not so good. The room was suppose to be none smoking but smelled like smoke. Check out is state on door at 12:00 but the office call for us to leave at 11:00am. The house keeper knocks on the door from 8am until 11:00 am disturbing our morning. The place is under construction, so from 7am until we leave, all we heard was drills, saws, hammering, talking back-and-fourth, along with equipment beeping.

The exterior photo of the hotel was misleading, we didn’t know which doors were the entry as there was no porte cochere to unload underneath so we circled the bldg twice. Front door looked like maintenance entrance with the HVAC units there. Front desk help was kind and accommodating. We had the single queen suite which was roomy enough except for the bed area. It was extremely tight (10-12 inches) on the side with no nightstand. So really only good for one person to stay there.

My fiance and I were in town for a convention and made the reservation several months prior. When we travel, I make the reservation and my fiance pays for it. When we arrived, we were told the credit card that was used had to be in the name of the person who made the reservation. Even though my fiance was present and had his ID, he was not allowed to pay. I received an email before arriving, informing us of the requirements of check-in. This was not mentioned. The woman who checked us in was very firm. We were not going to be able to stay unless I produced a credit card to pay, with my name on it. There was no conversation or compromise. I did pay for it but it messed up our plan. We missed out on earning airline miles because we couldn’t use the credit card we intended to use. We travel together ALL the time and I have NEVER experienced that! She literally was turning us away because my name was not on his credit card, citing “company policy”. Huh??? That policy was never mentioned in the email. The property itself was fine but seem to cater to people who need it for an indefinite amount of time. It felt more like dealing with Management at a rough apartment building rather than the front desk at a hotel. It was a bad start to our weekend. BEWARE! You may suffer an impromptu policy change. We will NEVER choose Candlewood again.

There was hair on the towels, the telephone to the front desk was not working and the bathroom sink was clogged. The engineer that came to fix it left the wet towel on the floor with black marks from his boots.

#1 I thought breakfast was included, that's why I got this one. Perhaps I got this wrong, not sure. #2 The thermostat on the wall did not work, the heater had to be on or off. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating, turn the heater off, then woke up in the morning cold. #3 The microwave in my room was broken, the front panel was missing, I took a picture.

Old but convenient
The front desk was friendly and informative. We stayed here two nights for a volleyball tournament, so we appreciated the full kitchen to make breakfast. (I did bring my own fry pan - that's from years of experience of traveling to VRBOs, hotels, etc.) The place is old, but clean for the most part with the exception of the bathroom door. The interior door bathroom door was disgusting - it needs to be cleaned. The beds were very comfortable. Overall, the place was quiet. We are not sure if we will return or stay at another nearby hotel.
