We loved this hotel. We were going to concert and was able to park our car for the weekend and walk everywhere we needed too. Love it.

All Around Ok

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Staff and location and beds.
Cons: Breakfast and elevator
Location: Close to downtown Indy
Staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel was clean and beds were very comfortable. Location is good - 10 minute walk to convention centre. Breakfast was ok; options were limited unless you arrived at 6:00 am. Very pricey for an average hotel service. Overall good experience.

THIS is the remodel?

Posted Jul 6, 2017
I know the hotel is under renovations but the least they could have done is have a sign out front with the name of the hotel on it so you wouldn't have to drive around the block 50 million times looking for a building that looks like a hotel. You don't enter the hotel from the street, you enter it from the covered parking lot which only had about 20 spaces. The elevator was out of order, the carpet and hallways were filthy, the room was dark and dingy and cramped and smelled moldy. And I had a remodeled room! There was no escaping the draft from the AC unit no matter how many pillows and blankets covered you. The hotel was not booked but for some reason we got put at the top of the stairwell next to the ice machine which apparently somebody was enthralled with because they came back many times and must have been filling coolers each time. Of course they waited until 2 a.m. to do it too. No water pressure in the sink, and they didn't even put the garbage can liners in. There is a motion detector which lit up the whole room, so going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was guaranteed to wake up everyone in the room. Never saw anybody at the front desk after my initial check in. The only good thing about this stay was the smile and hello from the person managing the breakfast area. Even though the breakfast was crap. Only white bread, raisin bagels,Cheerios, and runny eggs with ham in it were available.

Exterior being repaired, no sign. Elevator broken;

Posted Jun 28, 2017
They called to see if we wanted to cancel because of elevator, but no offer of discount. We were there for a wedding and rooms were hard to find. Breakfast was bleak, had to ask for bread: waffle batter not out; water for hot tea tasted like coffee. One person working and she was helpful but overwhelmed. Staff on the phone said we could have a room on the second floor because if the elevator problem and then gave us a room on 3, I had to ask for promised room on 2 (no first floor). Parking is free but awkward lot.

Under construction

Posted Jun 28, 2017
Pros: Nice, clean rooms, free parking and very friendly and competent staff
Cons: Inform people of the construction and put a sign out front so the hotel can be found.
Upon arrival, we didn't even know the hotel was open or that it was La Quinta. It may have been helpful to know in advance of the significant makeover being in progress. However, the staff was great. The rooms were very nice and parking is free! I was glad we were able bodied because the elevator didn't work the whole weekend and the breakfast was very limited in selection.

"Cheap" downtown hotel

Posted Jun 26, 2017
Pros: Room amenities were excellent for the price
Cons: Extensive renovations are presently underway
Location: About 6 blocks (20 minute walk) to convention center and mall
We were attending a convention in Indy and found this hotel within reasonable distance from the convention center at a very inexpensive rate compared to the 4-star hotels. The facility is undergoing extensive renovations which are LONG overdue! Our room was clean, comfortable and equipped with mini-fridge, microwave, ironing board and hair dryer. Covered parking and internet access were FREE! The two complaints were regarding breakfast and the one teensy little elevator. Although the variety and quality of breakfast were very good, several items had run out every morning by 8:15. And the one elevator was broken the day after we arrived and still not fixed when we left! The staff tried to be helpful, but there's not much to offer in that scenario when outside repairmen are incompetent :-(

NICE but not nice

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Pros: Rates good, location to down town great.
Cons: Needs updated. Bed could be improved and real pillows.
Location: Downtown Indianapolis and close to other Indy burbs.
Free breakfast is a nice catch phrase; however, the food that was to be hot was not. The fresh made waffles did not stay even warm very long. Food that was to be cold was cold. We left behind a medical device and when we called they could not find it. Had to call back four time and they found someone has but it away?????????????? Hotel is clean (needs updating), rates are good, location to downtown great. Bed was awful and what's up with those half sized pillows. Have been there for four years straight for a trade show we attend; may not be back next year.
