2.2 miles from Lucas Oil Stadium

Posted Nov 20, 2016
Pros: The location was good. The home was built in 1905 and plenty of sitting space in the living room and parlor. Antiques were everywhere.
Location: CVS and Walgreens are 2 blocks away. The number of restaurants close by is very limited. Uber was readily available.
The breakfasts were very good. It is a quiet place and the street is quiet, too. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are good, too.

Not clean, not comfortable, lack of service

Posted Nov 17, 2016
Cons: Cleanliness and service
Location: Very mixed neighborhood. Did not feel comfortable venturing out alone.
The furnishings and history of the hotel are nice. My disappointing experience was the result of a very dirty bathtub and floors that really made me feel uncomfortable. It was also confusing when a staff person knocked at my door to 'check on my room' late in the evening. When I shared my concerns, she told me I would have to talk to the owner. When I spoke to the owner the next day and told her of my findings (dirty bathtub, something under the bed that turned out to be a cleaning rag, she suggested I could have staged the photos I took as proof of these issues. In the end, the owner refunded my 2nd night and I am grateful for that.

The innkeeper knocked on the door of the guest's room, as the guest requested the innkeeper to come to her room. Random checks do not happen in the late evening or any other time of the day. The innkeeper was told about the guest's concerns and wanted to check and clean whatever was wrong. The guest refused the innkeeper entry. We are known for our high standards of cleanliness - please see previous reviews. The neighborhood is a beautiful historic district on the National Registry of historic places with median home prices in the $500K range. We are a diverse and mixed neighbor with families, singles, all ethnicities and cultures of which we are proud. The guest's second night was refunded only because we were able to re-rent the room.

Pros: the décor was very nice
Cons: bathroom in the bed room downstairs, specifically the tub could use a coat of paint but it was clean and they cleaned it daily
Location: there were Blu Indy rental cars and grocery store, lots of small shops and restaurants less than 2 miles from downtown it's walkable
I really enjoyed my stay Inn keepers were very nice and friendly but didn't both me at all

Thank you for the '5 out of 5' rating! Sharing with the bed and breakfast community is our highest compliment - thanks again! FYI-your bathroom is slated for renovation over the winter. Summer is our busy season and difficult to get into the room :).

Perfect inn with a wonderful staff!

Posted Aug 9, 2016
We had a great stay at the Looking Glass Inn. I don't usually write reviews, but the innkeepers were so warm and welcoming, and served such delicious food, that I had to repay the kindness. I highly recommend this beautiful old home, and hope to return next year!

Clean, friendly, good location.

Posted Apr 16, 2016
Pros: I liked the antiques, friendly staff, location and an adequate continental breakfast. The history of the Inn was very interesting.
Cons: The bathroom was cold. The shower and tub were not easy to use. The water pressure was very poor. The room was cold.
Location: Location was a 40 minute walk from the hotel to downtown Indy. It was close to restaurants for dining.
Arrived late and Cab driver did not know how to get there. It was an expensive ride from the airport - $45. I had to get in by using a lock with a key inside of it which was a bit confusing and cold standing outside. Room was ready to sleep and nicely attired in antiques. This is an old house converted into several B & B's I basicly only slept there for 2 nights and left early the third day. It was nice to read about the history of the Inn and it's original owners.

We would suggest using Uber - it's much less expensive. Typically it only takes 15-25 minutes to walk downtown. We will give you a better route to travel next time.

The Hideaway on the 3rd floor of the inn boasts a fully equipped kitchen. Don't like to cook? Many restaurants nearby.
