Great old building. Lots of history. Great insite and reminder of times gone by.

Ok hotel close to everything downtown.Posted Nov 8, 2015
Lacks amenities of many more modern hotels. The stay was average. Will look for another place if there is another time in Indy. It was convenient to all we needed. That is what was most attractive about the hotel.

Old 'Howard johnsons' on the circlePosted Oct 25, 2015
Went for this location based on location and price. You get what you pay for. Thin door separating rooms, 30$ parking, warm water went cold then scalding at 5 in the morning... And the dirty sock behind the dresser was a nice touch...

From the beginning to end of the stay very nice, but helpful to know ahead of time that you should pull up to the awning and then you will be helped out with taking the car from there. They wait inside the door for cars to pull up. Then you walk down the hall to the counter. The setting is not an in your face hotel. It was a very pleasant, comfortable stay. The bar was great! Tuesday at 6pm it was a lively group and the bartenders are very nice.

Reminds me of a NYC hotelPosted Oct 15, 2015
Pros: The old school, very fancy lobby. The location. The staff.
Cons: The furnishings in the room could use some updating.
Location: On Monument Circle, walking distance to all the downtown attractions, restaurants, and bars.
Right on Monument Circle, a great location in the downtown. The hotel lobby is immaculate and the greeting is very posh. The hotel is very old school, and the rooms show it, with worn carpeting, chairs, etc. but everything was clean, functional, and comfortable so it didn't bother me in the slightest. I wish I had a longer stay to utilize the club attached with the hotel. An unusual twist, I was able to park for free, right near the hotel, as parking is always free (24/7) on the circle.

Charming club/hotel downtown IndianapolisPosted Sep 18, 2015
Pros: It had a winning proximity to everything downtown.
Cons: There was virtually no soundproofing between rooms; valet parking not $25 as advertised but $30 (was informed of members' only price after the fact).
A charming club/hotel on Monument Circle that was a little stuffy in both attitude and air conditioning. But the former was part of the charm.

Historic Beauty for Those With Discerning TastePosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: The rich architecture and historical value The attention of the staff The location The wonderful on-site restaurant open to hotel guests.
Cons: Absolutely the only thing would be to make certain the guests know how to use the second floor entrance from the Chase Towers.
Location: Right on the circle in the heart of downtown there are restaurants all around within walking distance and it's conveniently located to any business.
I can't write enough about the experience of The Columbia Club from the moment you walk in. Let me say up front, if you're looking for something similar to your last Holiday Inn Express or Marriott, please move on. This hotel is truly for those who value the perfect combination of history and class. This was my first visit and I was amused at some of the reviews I read. Upon check in I was not asked to sign anything saying I couldn't bring in my own food although the thought didn't occur to me. I was travelling on business, not to have a party in my hotel room. I am unfamiliar with Indianapolis and the front desk staff gave me ideas for a close-by dinner, but then invited me to enjoy dinner at their own restaurant. Of course, I decided to give it a try and thoroughly enjoyed my evening. I had 2 glasses of wine, fresh bread, Ceasar salad and a wonderful salmon and asparagus dinner - all for just $67. The ambiance and attention from the wait staff was incredible and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The rooms are smaller than most hotel rooms, true. This hotel was built approximately 100 years ago and was suitable for its time. I found the rooms quaint, clean and completely comfortable. In the morning I ordered room service and literally got a complete breakfast for $13 delivered right on time and it was impeccable. Hats off to the chef who poached my eggs to perfection. Needless to say, I will be staying here again in the future. It was wonderful.

Not having the amenities that were promisedPosted Aug 24, 2015 on Hotels
A steam room the sauna and the pool were not in service. I was told they would be, and they were not very poor communications between hotel.com and the hotel in question. I have asked for a full refund, but so far I have not received one or a notice that one was coming. When you count on something like steam room due to health reasons it's very upsetting what not to be there. The hotel should be more accommodating in this matter. The hotel was very nice and a girl however I would not return

Room amenities lacking.Posted Aug 24, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel is very nice. The restraunt and bar superb. Wait staff very friendly. No shampoo in the rooms was a little strange. And coffe in room for only one person was also unexpected.
