Running water and a roof

Posted Oct 28, 2017
Good location to go places, but the rooms smelled a indescribable odor, can easily access the hotel by climbing through the door. Hotel staff was very friendly however.

Clearly where hobos take prostitutes

Posted Oct 16, 2017
This place was disgusting. Everything was filthy, lots of suspect-looking stains on the furniture, and the person at the front desk was completely unhelpful. He looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about WiFi. I considered sleeping in my car, and in retrospect I wish I had, and save the $80. Awful.

Chipped paint. Smelly rooms. Dangerous area.

Posted Oct 9, 2017
Cons: Tear it down and start over in a different location.
Location: There are industrial warehouses close by that look scary at night. There are some cheap eating places close by.
Advertised as a "Studio 6" hotel. When I called they said "Studio 6" was full but they had a similar hotel real close to "Studio 6." Studio 6 pictures showed a hotel that looked nice. Nice clean rooms. Very modern, looking new. I took his word for it without checking online - since I had already seen what he called an equivalent in "Studio 6."What a rat hole the Royal hotel was. More like a "royal" bait and switch! I'll sleep in my car before I'll return to this smelly, unsafe, unkept dump.

A frightful experience

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: The location is right in the heart of Indianapolis. There is alot of shopping from this location.
Cons: The entire hotel experience was frightful. Alot of remodeling is needed as well as TLC.
Location: There is alot of shopping and attractions including the Indiana Speedway.
I had the opportunity to visit alot of great hotels on Expedia, so I figure let me try this one. This hotel is one I would NEVER recommend. On the outside, the hotel appears to be in the middle of the road when it comes to how it looks, but the rooms itself could have been alot better. I purchased a king size room for three days and it was not what I expected. The bed sheets look like they were from the 1940's and my bedsheet had cigarette burns from the inside. The television was decent, but the ardmore was dusty and the couch had grease stains on it. I used a towel to sit on the couch because I have no idea what that really is. Coming and leaving the hotel room was also a chore, having to use your key in the door at a very, very specific placement or else you're just locked out. The worst was the bathroom. I've seen mildew on the floor board and the bathtub was unable to hold in any water. You have to get a washcloth and place it on the drain for it to hold in some water. Even with this, you still have to keep the water running so all the water won't eventually leave. The information guide shared that there was a pool, however the pool appeared to have never been used by anyone. The gate was locked and it was around 92 degrees outside. Leaving the rear was also scary because the glass door was missing the glass and the locks didn't work. Lastly, there was a door inside my room that led to another guest's room (and I didn't know the neighbors). Do not go here.

My stay.

Posted Aug 21, 2017 on Hotels
Room was clean and well kept. Bathroom was a little small and bed was really firm but that is nothing too surprising. Area seemed pretty nice with access to a variety of food and easy access to the highway. One thing that really did surprise me was that the TV included premium channels. Over all was a nice stay.

Convenience a plus, comfort a minus

Posted May 1, 2017
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Read above
Location: There is a great mexican food joint in a shack outside of Home Depot that has fabulous food, great value and always a long line.
No complementary breakfast nor coffee machine of any kind, rooms are falling apart (dents in the walls, doors appear dented from kicks, outlet covers cracked and do not hold electrical plugs). It appears that some renovations are underway to the rear of the hotel but the main portion of the hotel does not appear to be fixed. Side doors do not have locks nor handles, so building is largely unsecured. The pluses were that not many were staying here and so was a relatively quiet stay. It is also close to the freeway with fairly good access.
