We had a beautiful room and the reception areas are grand. The manager was very helpful in attending to all our needs. Breakfast downstairs was very acceptable, including eggs done to order (but please could we have chilled milk for cereal!). The only change that could be made is to reduce some of ...
We enjoyed our stay but just little things let the hotel down. The grass around the pool area needed cutting & had to ask for cushions to be put on the loungers. Could not believe the price of breakfast ! We went into town & had lovely breakfasts for a fraction of the price. The staff were all lovely ...
The hotel was hard to find, the place is amazing. The resturant is superb, best food I ate in France so far. The only downward is the furniture, it's outdated and need reupholstered for the springs goes into you when you are sitting and few chairs legs need to be fixed. The hotel is not a luxury ...
Booked this hotel for anniversary while on trip to France. Staying in a Chateau seemed like a romantic idea. Great selection for stepping back in town. There is a lift near the back of the building. Large soaker tub.
Rooms are quite basic for this level of establishment. The recent refurbishment is quite spartan. The bed was comfortable. The TV did not work properly nor did the WiFi. The carpet was fitted by a complete amateur with the pieces not in same direction so already major fraying .the breakfast was excellent ...
Chateau de Marcay is an absolutely gorgeous place to stay as a base to travel around to the vineyards, castles and other sites in the Loire Valley. The building and grounds are incredibly picturesque and luxurious, with nice pool, tennis courts, outdoor patio, gardens, etc.
As seasoned travelers, we seek out unique, historic, beautiful and luxurious accommodations. During our most recent 10 day trip to France, this property evoked all of the magic, history, intrigue and comforts of what one would expect from a Chateau hotel. Absolutely stunning, mysterious and ...
Everything from the friendly and personable proprietors, lovely decorated rooms and the beautifully restored 15th century French château surrounded by 100 acres of autumn leaved forests contributed to a very memorable four days. Magical!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Large comfortable clean room and bathroom but on roadside so noisy from traffic. The rooms at the back are probably quieter. Good selection for breakfast and lovely little courtyard dining area.
The staff is so nice and very helpful. Such a nice and zen environment. Good restaurant. Just remember that your room might be outside but that's still so good
The hotel was a real coup. Situated in rural countryside with all the comforts you could want, including a wonderful pool and loungers which we used when we arrived tired after a long drive. Restaurant was in colonial style and food was fantastic with very attentive staff who could answer any question ...
We stayed at the Chateau du Brieul having read that it was family friendly - but in reality, it was full of couples who frowned upon our kids shouting and playing around the grounds, let alone splashing in the swimming pool! The restaurant was a bit too formal for young children too, so we ate out. ...
