Dingy and no wifi, not recommended.Posted Aug 4, 2015 on Hotels
I would not recommend this hotel. First off, there is no wifi in the rooms. To be fair, I read reviews that complained about this and I knew that you needed to be in the common area, so I was prepared. But the wifi there barely worked. The staff told me that if there's a few people in the room using it, it often doesn't work. I had to work a few hours and would have never picked this hotel had I known that if more than one person was in the room, a website would take 20 minutes to load. Awful. Also, the common area serves as a bar too, so there's always people there in the evening, of course it'll be clogged then if your router sucks! The place is old and dingy and you are paying a cheap price for cheap quality. I was prepared for that as well. However, I couldn't sleep because I was stuck on the first floor and you can hear people walking above you. It sounded like they were stomping around like Herman Munster and about to fall through the ceiling. Awful. I didn't even shower there because the shower looked a little moldy and like a horror movie scene was about to happen. The bathroom fan buzzed so loud, you'd think you were about to be electrocuted. The only surprising thing was that the breakfast was decent. They had a buffet with the typical selection and it was satisfactory. In short, you cheapen out, you get cheap, so beware.

Great location and great sea view but basic hotel.Posted Jul 22, 2015 on Hotels
Having read some "not so complimentary" reviews on Trip Advisor, I entered the hotel with a lot of apprehension. So first the good - the lounge area where we needed to wait for the check-in was very spacious and the food we ordered was excellent - though the bar could do with increasing the range of wines and beers on tap. The room itself is functional and reasonably clean. We had a really superb sea view. Parking space in the hotel was fine though it can get full. The beds are not king size but were fine for the 2 of us. The bathroom is OK...clean and functional. Breakfast was fine. What they could do is improve the feel that this is a worn out hotel. The carpeting in the common areas and the room seems to be new but the one in the room corridors is old and dirty. Wifi is only in the lobby/lounge area and the speed is very patchy. This was a huge issue for us as the mobile signal in the room is not great. Get a sea view room....its worth the extra cost.

Bus Parties OnlyPosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: On the positive side, breakfast was good. And the view from the restaurant is elegant.
Cons: See experience (above)
Location: Broadford is nice and there are plenty of restaurants around
It seems that the main business of this hotel is with bus parties - i.e. single nights, little repeat custom. But what an awful room! The bed was incredibly uncomfortable (poorly sprung – think seasickness when one occupant moves), one window had no curtains the other had lightweight scratchy nylon curtains; the room door leaked light from the corridor; and the noise pollution was incredible – one could hear the people in the rooms above, next door and across the corridor walking around, sneezing, breaking wind; and although our room had recently had a lick of paint it could not be described as having been renovated. There is a threatening note in the bathroom telling the occupant that he/she will be charged if the fire alarm activates due to steam from the shower – if the alarm system is so sensitive, why is it not changed? Why has the hotel not installed (working) springs to close the door? There is no internet in the rooms; internet in the lounge barely works. Cheap and cheerful? Certainly not cheap in a fiscal sense (GBP105 for the room).

Avoid this one...Posted Jul 14, 2015 on Hotels
The entire hotel was very damp, and smelled like an old basement. The breakfast was OK. The wifi was free, but was only working in the reception area - if it was working at all.
