Easy distance for city and night life

Pros: It’s central position
Cons: The hotel is about to get a well deserved refurb in March/April time starting with the first floor.
Location: As I said before the hotel is near to the city and Newtown
Walking distance into Sydney and the night life in Newtown. Good transport links to beeches and places of interest.

Close to university, hospitals and restaurants

Older style but clean, and comfortable beds. Has a pool, and secure parking.

Location near to city Center and restaurant

Pros: Location
Cons: Redecorate
Location: Walk into Sydney. Close to bars and restaurants
Stayed on 3rd floor. Room can do with an upgrade. Location good for sightseeing

Outdated and not clean.

I have stayed at a number of Rydges hotels before and have never had a bad experience. This hotel however is the worst Rydges I’ve ever stayed at. The property is very old and in desperate need of a refresh. The hotel smelt very strongly and the bathroom was absolutely vile. All in all I didn’t enjoy my stay and was happy to leave.

Pros: Extended parking time after checkout
Cons: Getting a little dated,
Location: Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for us
Sunday so no facilities at Hotel but close to retaurants

Musty and smelly. Could not get room service kept getting put on hold then line would drop out.

Disappointing

Cons: Entire hotel needs an overhaul to be bought up to date with 2017
Check in girl was unfriendly. The elevators were being repaired at the time, so the one functional elevator took forever to arrive. The room is old and dated. The bed is extremely uncomfortable, the springs just sunk when I lay down into it. The bathroom was old and gross, with the shower curtain looking like it had been hanging there for many years. The bathroom sink was extremely clogged up, so just unclogged it myself, but clearly had never been addressed for many months/years? Wanted to get a drink at the bar with my colleague at 9pm, but was told very rudely that it was closed, and that if we wanted a drink, to order via room service. I only stayed here because it was convenient to the university, and recommended by the meeting organisers, but definitely wouldn't stay here again. Would much rather stay a bit further out, and deal with the extra travel time needed.
