Bad neighborhood. Looks like renovating hotel. Hotel staff welcomed me, but going done the hallway, it appeared they were doing interior construction.

Worst experience with La Quinta ever

Posted Nov 14, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Communication with the guests about any work being done and conditions of the rooms, prior to their arrival.
So I arrive at the hotel, and they let me know about renovations and work being done at the moment due to hurricane Irma (I know, not their fault). They tell me they didn't contact me because I had an international phone number (I guess email was out of the question?). So I was left in the dark about this situation, which I do blame on the hotel (and Expedia). I had no other choice but to stay there. They had only a handful of rooms available, and the whole floor I was put in, was completely dusty, covered in plastics, both floors and walls. They had this big air purifiers that were almost as loud as an airplane jet engine (I guess you could imagine the noisy situation). On top of that, my room had a faulty TV and clogged up sink, which I wasn't able to switch, because they had no other available rooms of course. The staff was nice and courteous, given the situation.

Bugs for real

Posted Nov 14, 2017
To start off this hotel was under construction when we arrived. Our room next door had a very loud fan on all night. I saw at least 4-5 bugs in our room and restroom. We decided to go eat the breakfast and the hard boiled eggs were black on the inside and the toast tasted like cardboard with jelly, even the chocolate muffin tasted old. One last thing I almost forgot, thewe had to turn on the hot water ourselves. I know what you might be thinking, but weiterally had to go under the sink and figure out if yhe hotel water valve was closed. Yes it was, and then they were screwed in backwards. So when you turned on the cold water in the sink, hkt water would come out, and vise versa. Unfortunately, because we were tight on a budget we could not move to another hotel and we had already prepaid for the week. When I booked this room I trusted the name La Quinta, but this visit in the hotel was a disaster. If I was a hotel manager, I would try to put one whole floor under construction, because guests do not want to hear hammers and power tools in the morning, nor do they want to see dirty carpets leading to their room.

Worst experience with a hotel and expedia EVER.

Posted Nov 13, 2017
Pros: I couldn't even check in because it was being demolished, the lady working the front desk failed to mention it was closed when I called to confirm.
Cons: There are not enough characters to be able to tell you everything this hotel and company need to improve on.
I booked this hotel through expedia about a month or so ago, on Wednesday the day before we were supposed to check in I called the hotel to change the name on the reservation so a friend who was arriving before me could check in. I gave my reservation info immediately and they stated they had my reservation but I needed to call expedia to have them change the name on it. I then called expedia and they confirmed my reservation and allowed me to change the name on it. Around 9pm my friend arrives at the hotel to try and check in only to find out that it's currently closed for demolition/restoration due to a hurricane 3 months ago. I specifically waited to book this hotel until after the hurricanes to make sure this situation wouldn't happen, neither the hotel nor expedia notified me of this even when I called to confirm my reservation. I was on the phone with expedia while traveling to Florida from North Carolina for over an hour, I was transferred five times to three different departments and not a single person was competent enough to actually help me. This all was going on while my friend was stranded at a hotel with no place to sleep, after an hour of not getting anywhere on the phone I finally gave up and booked a different hotel by myself. Not a single person with expedia I talked to could find a room for my friend and I and if they did it was well over $150 more than our price budget. Absolutely awful on both expedia and the hotels part. Never booking with either again.

Very disappointed with given a room right next to the plastic partition. Too much noise from 8am to 8pm, including Saturday & Sunday. The lease they could have done was provide a better breakfast for everyone.

Gus, I am saddened by what you have mentioned. I apologize for what you had found in the room. We obviously dropped the ball on our cleaning. we checked in late night, first room we get on 2nd floor we found cockroaches on the wall, called frond desk and he changed our room to 1st floor. room is ok better than the previous room . i think it's not la quinta standard hotel which you expect from them. Need renovation and upgrade the furniture and beds. Breakfast was ok as well. staffs are really helpful and friendly. not recommend to anyone and won't stay again.

Deep, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am sadden by the experience you had with us. This is definitely not the type of experience we want any of our guests to have. I am happy to hear we room changed you immediately. We did also contact our exterminator. Unfortunately, after Hurricane Irma and the continuation of rain, the grounds are wet and still some flooding, which is causing insects to be everywhere. But, they are surely not welcomed here! We also do hope to be renovated in the near future. Thank you again!
