Pros: everything
very clean rooms,friendly staff & good breakfast with waffles , biscuits & gravy,cereal etc. We stay here every year for the American Victory Rally in Spirit Lake & lake okoboji.& have never been disappointed

Nice hotel

It was a nice clean hotel with friendly staff. My only complaint was that after paying for the room thru Expedia I was charged another $87 charge at the hotel for incidentals. They said it would come off in a couple of days but being charged almost double for a hotel room at the time of check-in and not be told in advance doesn't seem right. I used Expedia twice on this vacation and the other hotel only charge me $20 for incidentals and that charge came off the very next day.

Your Credit Card was only scanned for incidentals. It was never charged by the hotel. When a debit card is used, the Credit Card companies put an authorization hold on your card, which should fall off after a few day. If it hasn't yet been taken care of, you need to contact your Credit Card company and ask them to remove the authorization hold. We apologize for the confusion. Thank you for staying with us.

Very Nice Hotel great place to stay

Cons: AC
Room was very nice! The Bathroom was Large and Spacious. I wish the AC in the Room Could have been cooler. I like to sleep in the cold.

New Year's Day stay.

Room was very large, incredibly comfortable. A little surprised there wasn't a microwave in the room. We ordered pizza and wanted to reheat it but had to use a microwave in the lobby right next to check in counter...it was a little strange. Originally I walked into the breakfast area and looked around- as two employees sat there on their phones. Then I asked for the microwave- they just pointed to the lobby and went back to their phones again. The night before I had asked for an extra blanket and pillow- the gentlemen at the desk responded with-"aren't there enough in the room? Let me see if we even have any extras." After a few minutes of him saying something under his breath he walked back up and handed me an extra pillow and blanket-and said "you are lucky I found some extras." The hotel was practically empty- seriously?!? How about you just be nice and friendly to the guests you do have.

Thank you for your comments. We know that a lot of motels/hotels have microwaves in every room, but unfortunately we are not one of them as you found out. I believe the employees on their cell phones were probably on their lunch break, but that does not does not mean they should ignore our guests or be rude. As for extra pillows & blankets, we always have a few extra available. I am truly sorry that you were treated like this. I hope you will give us a 2nd chance and stay with us again.
