front desk very helpful and glad to see us

Posted Dec 12, 2017
Pros: The hotel had a historical background, the rooms reflected the History
Cons: I would add a nice comfortable chair or love seat to every room with out upgrade charge. I would like to hang out in comfort.
Location: We found the near by starbucks, we drove 4 miles to a really nice Thai restaurant Our conference was close to the hotel too.
great room, comfortable bed. enjoyed the breakfast, perfect stay.

Bad hotel, it smells and its noisy couldn't sleep.

Posted Dec 12, 2017
Pros: Breakfast was decent and staff seemed friendly.
Cons: Move the hotel location
Location: The location is horrible and there's Denny's
Our room #334 was supposed to be one of the accommodations by the front desk on the third floor because of the train? (never mentioned on the website) we lay awake instead of sleeping when we were tired from the drive. Well that train goes by every hour is loud and couldn't go to sleep it scared the crap out my kids and myself we thought it was an earthquake. The room has a musty smell, one of the beds blankets was dirty, the beds were full size instead of queen size, we could hear every conversation the neighbors were having as well as their foot steps, the walls are cement so they look raw and unfinished it feels like you are in jail not comfortable at all, the heater is noisy also, the carpet definitely needs to be steamed or washed my feet were black after getting out of the shower. For the same amount I paid to stay here I would have stayed elsewhere and be totally fine. We travel with our soccer team all the time, please keep in mind that because I booked through Expedia I didn't get the team discount as the other 30+ families. Even if another hotel doesn't meet our expectations now, we always remind ourselves it's not as bad as La Quinta. I will never stay at La Quinta again and I surely hope someone benefits from my review as I should've done my due diligence and read some reviews.

We were scrambling to find a pet friendly hotel especially since we have a large breed dog. This La Quinta location was extremely accommodating.

Dated rooms, concrete walls

Posted Dec 10, 2017
Pros: Location was my primary reason for choosing this hotel, plus I like the free breakfast, makes the morning more convenient.
Cons: Change the carpet and the furnishings, show that you care and reinvest some of your income into the customer's comfort!
Location: Close to I-5 which gives you access to a lot of tourist things to do.
I was in the Silo building, which is basically a former silo converted into a hotel. The room had concrete walls throughout, kind of bizarre. The sofa and the carpet looked like it was from the 70's, very dated and worn. The room actually seemed clean though. I had called ahead the day before I arrived to arrange the airport shuttle, they never showed up. After I called to find out why, I was told they would have someone come get me. After about 25 minutes they called me back to say they couldn't find the shuttle driver so one of the front desk clerks came. There's no excuse for this when I've called ahead and scheduled the shuttle.

Go Somewhere Else -- Don't Stay Here!

Posted Dec 8, 2017
Pros: The outside of the building is somewhat Nostalgic -- but skip it altogether because it's VERY NOISY and located right along a busy freeway.
Cons: Cleanliness please!!! No vacuum hit the floor of this hotel room before the next guest arrived.
Location: Convenient to Irvine Spectrum
The sides of the building are made of formed cement so they're raw and unfinished. Be aware that it's not possible to heat cement so be prepared to run the heater 7/24. The Heater is NOISY so be prepared to listen to the noise rattling all night long. The Heater LEAKS water so don't put anything under the heater -- it's mounted about 36" off the floor under the window, so it seems like a good place to place items but DON't or they will get WET and be RUINED. Absolutely HORRIFIC experience with the room and question the cleanliness. The Room was NOT clean! Here are a few examples: (1) Found a used sticky dirty Breath-Right Nose Guard IN THE BED. Should we give Housecleaning the benefit of the doubt and suggest that perhaps the Nose Guard got caught in the sheets while the sheets were being washed?? (2) Found another Nose Guard on the FLOOR next to the bed. So, there's no way a vacuum was used in the room after the last guest departed. (3) Shorted various towels. (4) Found a dirty Plastic Shopping Bag in the Drawer so no cleaning person checked the drawers after the last guest FLED the premises.

Warehouse living

Posted Nov 30, 2017
Pros: Not much
Cons: Effort should be put into making the rooms quieter. A comfortable reading chair added to the room. More sound adsorbing material hung in the hall.
We had never been to this hotel before. Upon arrival, after dark, we were "upgraded" to a room that would shield us from the train noise. We found ourselves in the old concrete warehouse. Our room had gray concrete walls, one chair from the breakfast area, and one tapestry hanging on the wall. There was a second office chair at the desk. No comfortable stuffed chair with arms. We also were assigned the room right next to the outside door. There was constant noise at all hours of the night and early morning. Every spoken word echoed. Closing any room door echoed through the entire hallway. The exit door slammed. Some guests walked their dogs as early as 5:00 am. Somebody allowed their dog to pee right near the exit area so you had to be careful not to walk in it. Upon check-out we mentioned the "train noise" upgrade. The desk personnel gave a strange look and said that trains should not have been a problem. We never saw or heard a train. I think we were snookered.

Right next to a train track....really??

Posted Nov 22, 2017
Cons: Breakfast and coffee was terrible, but was expected for a lower quality hotel.
Location: Near Irvine Spectrum which was nice.
For being a former factory or grain elevator, the renovation is ok and commendable. But the glaring thing about the hotel that I didn't think of going in was that it's right next to a train track. Yep, that noise every so often 24 hours a day. More than a nuance... Who decided to build a hotel right next to a train track?? Terrible business decision.
