Excellent resort

Absolutely the best experience we could ever have. We were there 10 days and everything was wonderful. There are numerous swimming pools, 5 places in the resort to eat and all the food was great or better - plus the restaurants and shopping of nearby Barra de Navidad and La Culebra were great. This isn't crazy Cancun or Acapulco, this is a great low key beach area - The staff is professional I can't say enough good things about Grand Isla Navidad (aka Grand Bay). Next time, I'll get in some golf.

Lovely hotel! Lovely staff!

Been coming here for years. The grounds are gorgeous. Rooms are lovely, large and kept immaculate (although do need a bit of upgrading over last couple of years). The staff could not be nicer or more attentive. Fabulous pool(s) and great proximity to the fun and colorful town of Barra Navidad, just across the lagoon/bay. Love this place. Recommend highly to get "away from it all".

Beautiful Old Hotel

Pros: The beautiful views.
Cons: Try marketing the property.
We go on vacation with the intention of meeting new and interesting people. Our first meal at the hotel's main restaurant was a first (it was as if we owned it.) We were the only guests there. The following day there were about 10 guests throughout the property. Our days there were very long and boring. We went by water taxi every day to two neighboring villages (Barra and Melaque) and even took a day trip to Manzanillo. But once back at the hotel was a major yawn. Staff was alright. Considering how few guests there were at the pool, it was hard getting wait staff's attention for drinks. One of our traveling friends was going stir-crazy and booked a flight back home after the third day. We roughed it out to complete our week there. Unless you want a very quiet vacation at an elegant hotel, I would think hard about staying at this property.

We appreciates you valuable comments and understand that every destination has something different to offer and our hotel may not be the perfect place for everyone, but we do have a program with various activities throughout the day. You can enjoy Yoga at the Beach, Aqua Aerobics, Ping Pong, Beach Football or Volleyball, all sorts of Water activities, Fishing, ATV, ecological Walks and Bike Rides, local Tours, etc. Our daily program is announced at lobby and pool area as well during the check in all our guests get the weekly activity program. Taking this opportunity I also would like to explain that our strongest market are groups and conventions as well as Mexican families during vacations. Reason why we experience a low occupation one or another week. Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience with the Waiter staff at the pool area. I shared your comments with our F&B Manager and he will follow up on this task. This hotel is mediocre at best. The wifi at this hotel is pitiful. Only works in the lobby of the hotel. My bathtub did not work at all and shower was marginal. 4 calls for repair were never answered. I will never stay here again. If I travel here I will drive to Puerto valeratta and stay there

We apologies for the inconvenience with WIFI even though our hotel offers a free WIFI access in the public areas as well in the rooms, some rooms have very restricted WIFI reception because of the architectural structure of the hotel and thickness of the walls. It was also very unsettling to read your comments about lack of response from our staff, we are looking into it to avoid that happens again. Such a beautiful relaxing place!

Pros: The architecture is beautiful. One can see how much thought and detail went into building this place.
Location: The location is great and the water taxi to the small town is awesome.
This is not a place to visit if you are looking for late nights and early morning hangovers. However, if you need some peace and relaxation, this is a wonderful hotel!! The staff (and I mean all of them) are wonderful. The rooms are clean and spacious, the grounds are huge and the food is amazing. Can't wait to go back and have drinks at the pool again :-)

Wonderful. Life changing experience.

Cons: I wish theater had been warm and bluer. I wish I had been able to catch fish.
The staff was so accommodating. I knew them all by first name by end of trip. The food was awesome.I can't wait to go back. It was heaven. It was a dream come true. I loved it there.

Great family hotel
