Beautiful beach/mountain hotel.

Posted Jul 26, 2016
Pros: Beautiful location, great facilities and super friendly staff.
Cons: Food and beverage service at the restaurant and room service needs to improve. Got several of food orders wrong.
Location: Beach, horse riding, turtle watching, spa, surfing and lots of adventure and outdoor activities. Incredible infinity pool on site.
Beach and mountain attractions in one hotel. Staff is very friendly and accomodating.. They´ll do their best to satisfy all your needs.

Real sustainable tourism

Posted Jul 11, 2016 on Hotels
The most interesting and impressive part about Punta Islita is the commitment to economic and social sustainability. There is local art village were community women run a museum and shop. Plus there is community daycare so locals can work at the hotel. Plus local environmental programs have encouraged reforestation and a macaw preservation project. The macaws are chattering and visible all over the property, making it a really unique experience!

Secluded resort with incredible views

Posted Dec 18, 2015
This small luxury resort allows guests to get close to nature and experience real Tico hospitality. Complimentary activities like kayaking, horseback riding and zip lining are a nice feature. Because of its remote location, dining options are limited but the restaurant and beach bar serve excellent food. Great experience!

Absolutely an amazing stay!! I would highly recommend this place. Best for couples. Johan is the best bartender and all staff is so friendly, helpful, and polite. My boyfriend and I did not want to leave. Would definitely visit again!

Excellent service

We got a nice deal for out rooms. The facilites are not the newest or most flashy, but the service is unparalleled. The rooms have great views and private outdoor Jacuzzis and hammocks with an awesome view. Recommended

Great place, hard to get to...

Posted Feb 24, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is great. Good prices and wonderful staff. Everything is onsite. Zip lining is very cool - you hike a little ways up and then zip line right back to the hotel. Horseback riding is a real trail, long, up and down a mountain. Everyone is very patient and tries to teach you to speak Spanish. Excellent food Only downside, is you are completely stuck there. There is nothing outside the hotel and you are a ways away from the next town over. You are relegated to doing only what the hotel has to offer. Hard to get to also. You either fly into a small local airstrip by taking a connection from San Jose, in which case you won't have a car and you're stranded there with no way of doing anything outside the resort. OR...you fly into Liberia, rent a car - the drive is long, I mean 3 hours long and you have to drive on dirt roads, no highways, and the drive is too dangerous to do at nighttime. Would recommend but just keep in mind the trip there takes up additional time driving.

Family vacation with teenagers

Great place in a beautiful setting. Spectacular view and lots of wildlife. Food and staff wonderful. Could not get hot water while showering during peak times but a very small inconvenience when compared to all of the positive experiences. Don't recommend rental cars , as the driving is torturous.

Thank you so much for your visit and for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are delighted that your experience was so positive and diverse. Our sincere thanks for alerting us to the problem with the water pressure and for being so gracious. Alternatives for reaching Hotel Punta Islita and enjoying its wonderfully secluded setting include private drivers or for the ultimate in convenience, taking a local 35 minute flight to the nearby Islita Airstrip. Please return very soon to Costa Rica, it truly is a magical destination!
