Minimalist accomm

Four flights spiral staircase. Had to ask for drinking water. Half bottle delivered. No toilet paper. When requested they had run out. Serviettes supplied! Bed sheet just covered top of mattress. Manager v pleasant. Lovely to be embedded in old Istanbul.

Easy access to all interesting sites

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Pros: The convenience and ease of access.
Cons: A bigger sheet on the bed.
Location: Once we sorted an easy walk to the centre of Sultanhamet we were extremely happy with the access to all the important sites and transport.
Very friendly and obliging staff. The apartment was extremely suitable for our needs after a long day out viewing the city and the cost was extremely good.

Totally deceived!!!

Posted Jul 3, 2015
1st of all it was difficult for the cab driver to find the address on the booking that turned out to be the "office" that was hardly such. Then we had to walk at least a kilometer to get to the apartment that was even more remote than the office. Since the airline, Aeroflot had lost my friend's luggage we had to coordinate by phone that I had to buy to get the luggage to the apartment since the address we gave them was the office that initially when called told the delivery service mistakenly we had left. We didn't get the luggage until 3am the 2d day. We had also booked 3 tours through Expedia and because we weren't staying at a HOTEL had to take a taxi to get to the evening cruise then were not picked up on the 20th for the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Bazaar tour even though we had asked to be picked up at a Best Western that was a hotel near us, the same thing happening the next day for the day cruise. We had to reschedule both but last 2 days in which we could have taken 2 other tours and I totally blame Expedia for total incompetence for all of this. When we tried to reschedule we were also told bu the tour company that they couldn't help us and referred us to Expedia representatives who also proved difficult to deal with. You made this a very difficult trip and I will not book thru you again and let everyone I know of the problems I had with you.

Rundown but cheap

Posted May 24, 2015
The room we rented was not at all like the photos in expedia. It was very rundown, dirty, mismatched bedding, huge cracks in the walls, thin walls between each rooms, etc. would not recommend this hotel only if passing by Istanbul and need to sleep for a few hours but nothing more. The AC did work however :)

Get ready to pay cancelation fees

Posted Oct 8, 2014 on Hotels
If there was a rating in the minus I would give the lowest. All photos you see online are not true. They are photoshopped. Ugly old house you smell the mold from the second they open the door. Ugly neighborhood not clise to anything other than other ugly molded houses. These people live on cancelation fees of $45 daily because nobody stays there. I didn't see any guests there. The main door was totally locked when I got there and only one pearson/admin sleeping on a bed in the front room which is considered as a front desk area. This is my second experience with people like those. 2 years ago the same thing happened but I trusted hotels.com very much and I thought this is an odd situation. But apparently these people usisng the names of hotels.com and they know they won't get in trouble because they don't get checked. They live on cancelation fees. We travel alot and I trusted hotels.com for long time but I wish they can make a visit to Turkey to check out some of these hotels before they could be an easy tool to deceive and milk customers
