We always use Hilton’s when travelling it’s a brand that we trust unfortunately on this occasion both Hilton and Expedia have let us down . Firstly let’s focus on the positives , the hotel is just opposite the tram stop unfortunately not the best end of town to stay with surrounding restaurants “ I use this term very sparingly are terrible “ and if you fancy drink in or around this area a apart from the hotel which charges €10 for a 33cl bottle of beer your stuck . The area that the hotel is in is undergoing massive construction works laying new pavements and this work take place overnight outside the hotel on the first evening all night we had diggers and pneumatic drills ..as you can imagine we didn’t sleep ! The next day this was pointed out to the reception whom abruptly pointed out this noise has nothing to do with them after much debate they agreed to move the room to the back of the hotel thus reducing any noise . My point is we lost 1 days holiday as we became so tired with this noise the hotel should show compassion and offer compensation . My gripe lies with both Expedia and Hilton whom should have informed us of these works as not only the noise but when you left the hotel my wife who has an issue with her hip found it exceptionally challenging getting up the make shift steps into the hotel . If your thinking of booking this hotel please think long and hard as it’s not in the best area and really does need some TLC as the rooms are looking very dated ..

The most comfortable beds
I think Hilton Hotels have the most comfortable beds! The room was quiet and the perfect temperature and we slept very well. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Only minor issue was being woken by the cleaning staff at 9am when we were having a lie-in. I would have liked the option to reuse our towels to minimise our environmental impact.

We had two rooms for my family during this trip. One of the room we checked and had very bad smell and next day when I reported they changed the room and in the new room next day at night we could not open the door and it took them almost an hour to fix it. Terrible hotel and will never recommend anyone.

Well it was a tragedy to stay there. The staff are only good at helping there own national people. Other nationals they are rude to them very aggressive and not helpful. My bedroom for 3 days was not cleaned we asked them to clean it after the first day and it was not cleaned At all. No chemicals were given it was a shock as I have been to Istanbul many times And stayed here before ! Moreover I was shouted at my a manger as we went to the roof top to have 2 drinks which Was a Pepsi and a orange juice I didn’t have the payment so I said I’ll go to the bureau de change and the manger knew this however with the manager knowing this she followed Me from the 5th floor to the main exit with many Guests to the exit pressurising me to put instantly I complied and said im Going to the high st to change pounds to Lira when I returned to The hotel I paid and she still argued sayin why English people so stupid I have few recordings of this situation and explained to her as a manager you should not shout at me and not be aggressive. The room was filthy it had Condoms On the balcony many cigarette ashes on the floor. Many bed stains and holes in the bedding. The bathroom Was very filthy and had urine stains and was not cleaned It was a nightmare. I will Never return to this hotel. I demand I get a refund for this hotel

We reserved and prepaid a non-smoking room but were given a smoking room because "the hotel was full". We were transferred to a non-smoking room the next morning but there was cigarette smoke coming in through the AC vent. It took 2 room changes to finally get a smoke-free room. Except for the doormen who are very polite and helpful, most other staff are impolite. The worst is room service, who come in with an attitude, require immediate payment, then look visibly angry when they realize they have to make another trip to bring the visa terminal. The worst thing about this property is that all staff will knock on the door twice then immediately enter the room with their pass, which constitutes an invasion of privacy that is unfound in any other hotel I have ever stayed at. Let alone a 5-star Hilton. Another disappointment was the impossibility to take a private Turkish bath. We will never stay at a DoubleTree again.

Great hotel in Old Town
Everything is satisfactory. We had a nice stay. The ice machine in the 2nd floor was out of order and it took very long to have an ice bucket delivered to our room. The hotel location is very close to many tourist spot in Sultanahmed. The traffic restriction around old town makes it difficult to get a taxi or being dropped by a taxi. Metro and tram station are 5 minute walk

Overall a good hotel. Worthy of being a Hilton property. Although service is not up to the mark. The staff especially in the dining area are indifferent or need more training.

Too noisy
Certainly the hotel room we stayed in was not worth USD $200+ a night. Small and just above street level where the street noise can be easily heard in the room.
