I had a bad experience in this hotel, and i won't be trusting expedia again with my hotel choices. I originally booked the room with a sea view, when the staff saw that my booking was through expedia, they gave me a city view room for disabled people. The view from the room was horrible, and the whole experience was completely different than what I anticipated, and when i tried to ask for change, they offered the room i had originally asked for with an extra 35 euros per night. Very disappointing experience, hotel is very overrated, and customer experience was a fail.

Bad service No internet Elevator not work, had to use stair to the 8 floor Poor customer I had surgery and they dint let my guest come to my room to check on me. This was a horrible experience

Bad Memory
I booked a room for myself &my sister, I couldn’t make it because my husband was hospitalised , when my sister went to the room she found it very dirty , dirty bathroom & toilet , the bed was the worst , dirty sheets withe Little insects crawling on the BED, also the room was smelly too, smell of cigarettes and damp, it was like the windows were not opened for a long time. She rang me and explain, I got so upset and ask her to go to the reception & explain the room’s situation , any way there was nobody to help , my sister asked them please come & see the room, the lady at the reception said I’m on my own and can not leave , after a while they gave her a room, She stayed 3 days on that room . After 3 days they asked her to pay $40.00 for each day she spend on that room, they took $120.00 from her, My sister was my guest, I didn’t want her to pay anything , I want you to get a refund and get my sister’s money from them, They were very unfair toward my sister.

Terrible place to stay. These guys are scammers. They will ask 120euro per night to extra charge if you want the room as in photo. Very very poor breakfast. If your neighbour sneezes you can hear :) Impossible to sleep more than 10AM as the cleaning guys vaccuum cleaners will wake you up,

I have used this hotel for many years. This past visit was dissapointing as the front desk is now in a small office and difficult to deal with when busy and peoples suitcases. No restaurant and the bar area is now closed. entrance blocked off. The staff failed to tell guests that one day the police would block off all access between hotel and Taksim.

I am afraid that this hotel has gone downhill. The reception desk is crambed into a small office . The original reception desk sits unused. The bar area is closed off and there is no restaurant. One day the streets to Taksim Square was blocked by police with no warning from the hotel . So I was traped in the hotel.

It was very bad , supposed to be 4 ✨ but actually 2 stars todayi woke up at 5 am was no water u phone the resption and been told water is off till next day 8 am so I couldn't use the toilets or get wash or brush my teeth, i arrived Monday 3 days ago I request 2 cup of teas the staff demanding 100 Turkish lira for small cups , in advance before he made the cup of teas , when the cup of tea arrive was small cups 3/4 full and cold . I complain for been cold and too much money , u can buy the same size cup of tea outside the hotel 10tl each and fresh and hot . Not again will use the hotel

I liked the location as it’s very central. I had a nice e view from my room. The room was old the staff want tips for every little thing. The restaurant staff were patting down people in front of me before heading into the restaurant. I then saw a staff member pull out a handgun and place it in the cloak room near the doorway to the restaurant. After dinner he demanded I pay him 50 Lira for taking my jacket. The hotel did not have a pool or gym as advertised either. This is far from a 4 star hotel

I booked the hotel just to spend a few hours before an early flight, and I was not impressed with it. The receptionist asked for my passport and as soon as he saw a UK passport asked me if I was from London, I said I lived in London, then he immediately formed his view in his bigoted mind and said "but originally from Pakistan?", just because I am not blond/white, so I replied "am actually from Mexico" but in his mind this might be normal behaviour in Turkey, to me it was rude and a bit racist. He then said 'am going to do my best to give you a triple room', even though that is what I booked and paid for. He sent me to a horrible room, with no outside light as the window was facing the dumpside of the terrace from the next door building. I complained and was moved to another room one floor above. There was no complimentary bottle of water in the room and it was not as clean as other hotels I stayed in Turkey. Bad service overall.

Management zero , All staff are rude specially the reception , all mattress is bad on the room I reserved 5 rooms for my family they let use the staff elevator and we stay 2 days without hot water .

The hotel was clean and the room service was perfect. But the tv is too small like a laptop tv . Staff was friendly. Road was a bit annoying late night. Some noise from the road whitch is normal for taksim. Thanks

I would stay somewhere much better with this price
The hotel location is great but most rooms are in basements up to level -4 . I had to ask for higher lever . The room cleaning was ok but not great . There was nothing in the fridge and no kettle to make a cup of tea or coffee also you could not eat on the balcony which was very disappointing but Mr Kareem was very polite and professional and very helpful .

Good location
I had a 3 night stay at the hotel. It has a great location near Taksim and Istaklal street. Being near the center it was at times noisy but that is true at all hotels near Taksim. Due to covid the free breakfast had a plate of meats, cheeses and olives and you could add potatoes and eggs if you wanted. They could use more locations for serving tea and coffee.

Hey Sir/madam, Very Very Sorry to say my experience with Grand Star hotel was not good because first of All in my 3 days atay they clean my room once☹️ Then Room phone was ot working,Hotel Reception was not speaking english & when we booked the room they didn’t gave us sea view facing when i asked them they demanded extra 50 Euro for each day. Seriously i was not at all happy with them. Last thing when i was checking out they even didn’t bring my luggage from my room to lobby.

I like it it's really good spicily if you get sea view room, and the room size it's good also and the bath room as well, first time I come to Istanbul and enjoying the stay on hotel usually there hotels are so small but this one it's nice spicily with there price rate.

This place is HORRIBLE ant the staff at reception are unprofessional. They misread clients I would never recommend specially for people with kids and others. Wifi is super slow . And dont eat breakfast there is not clean
