Prime location hotel with outstanding staffPosted Sep 30, 2015
Aside from the a very convenient location, close to most tourist attractions, the major asset of this small and well appointed hotel is its staff. They are not only friendly and willing to guide and help you, but they stay a step ahead of you, anticipating what you will likely need. The breakfast buffet is delicious and varied, catering to multiple tastes, from scrambled eggs to excellent Turkish delicacies. The hotel also offers a 6pm free buffet with appetizers and delicious non-alcoholic beverages. Overall, Amira has the best staff I have ever come across in my many years of traveling. Thanks to all of you for making our holiday so much more enjoyable.

Heart of IstanbulPosted Sep 17, 2015
Pros: Friendly, welcoming and supportive without being intrusive. Room was clean and had everything one might need provided. Food was superb!
Cons: All very minor complaints - hairdryer was temperamental. Breakfast began at 07.30 and some tours had 07.45 pick-ups so time was tight.
Location: Walking distance to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Basilica Cistern (Dan Brown's Inferno setting). Amazingly central location.
Storms delayed arrival but pickup was still waiting. Drinks and amazing welcome whilst visits were planned with us by Fatih. Five minute walk to the Blue Mosque and a whole host of amazing restaurants! Afternoon tea - free - was superb. The roof terrace and waiter service were excellent. I do not wax lyrical easily but this hotel did everything to make us welcome and enjoy our time in Istanbul - which we did - and gave already planned to return in 2016.

Amazing hotel. Amazing staffPosted Sep 2, 2015
From the moment you arrive at Hotel Amira, you are shown why the Turkish are known for their hospitality. With hotel Amira being a boutique hotel, it really is all about the little things, the greetings every time you come back or leave, the offer of complimentary umbrellas on rainy days, the free breakfast and tea service with a wide array of Turkish foods, the cleaning cards left on the bed complete with what to expect for tomorrow's weather and the toilet seals to ensure you room service has cleaned every inch of your room. The location of this hotel will make this trip complete for you. Everything you need to see is within walking distance. I walk at a moderate to fast pace but here are how long these locations took my family and I to walk to: The Hippodrome - 5 minutes (you're practically in it) Blue Mosque - 5-10 minutes (you can see it from the hotel's rooftop patio) Basilica Cistern -5-10 minutes (right beside blue mosque) Aya Sofia - 10 minutes (across the street from the blue mosque) Topkapi palace - 20-25 minutes The Grand Bazaar - 20-30 minutes If you're staying here i recommend saving your money and not going with the tour guides as they are pricey and everything in Turkey is well labelled and the locals are more than willing to show you around and point you in the right direction. My parents and I chose a very pricey tour guide at 90 euros per person and all he showed us was aya Sofia, basilica cistern and the grand bazaar and very lethargically at that. B

Great introduction to IstanbulPosted Aug 30, 2015
Cons: Wifi in our room not great
Location: Great location in Sultanhamet, a very short walk to Blue Mosque etc
From the moment we arrived at Amira Hotel we were greated by friendly staff who organized complentary drinks, while they sat down with us to help plan our itinerary in Istanbul. Nothing was a problem for them and they arranged tour bookings, restaurant reservations, transfers etc. The complimentary afternoon tea was a lovely touch, after a long day of sightseeing. Having a drink on the rooftop terrace ,watching the sunset , was a relaxing end to the day. Overall staying at Amira made our visit to Istanbul a wonderful experience!

Turkish delightPosted Aug 19, 2015
What a pleasant experience the Hotel Amira was. Before we arrived the concierge staff was helpful in looking at onward travel options for our group. They helped arrange city tours and evening entertainment, and were always helpful. We suspect AJ is really Robert Downey Jr. on assignment working on a new role. The location is excellent - just a few hundred yards from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The rooftop terrace/cafe was a pleasant place to retreat at the end of the day for a refreshing drink and looking out over the old city.
