This is an ok budget hotel in the downtown core of Istanbul. It is clean, and their staff members are all awesome. My room was decent-sized, but the window was fake - it did not face the outside, but some some kind of internal wall, so I could not see the street at all, and it was always dark, pretty much like a basement. The elevator is small, and at times it was out of order. Breakfast was decent. Soundproofing was lacking, and I could hear everything on the floor. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was good enough. I would like to thank all members of staff for the welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel is extremely dated and needs a facelift. I felt misled when i arrived and saw the rooms. The beds are entirely too small as well.

Great location and very nice hotel rooms
The service was fantastic, the rooms were very nice- spacious and very modern- the free breakfast was great. And the location is unbeatable.

Good location - walking distance main attractions
Booking was lost however staff quickly arranged alternate accommodation at a hotel close by, paid for the taxi and return in the morning. A bit inconvenient but handled well be the staff. Room smallish but otherwise ok. We had a room at the front which was noisy in till about midnight.

Good hotel, small room but high up as we requested
Rather cramped for two and sound insulation disappointing so prone to noise. But cleaned every day and fresh linen provided. Hot water good. Breakfast OK but rather monotonous.

Right in the Heart of Istanbul
I'll start by saying the FREE breakfast was probably the best I've had at any hotel, bar none. Several cheeses, pears, bananas, omelettes with sausage, pastries of bakery quality, everything beautifully arranged. Then there is the location... We walked to the Grand Bazaar, New Mosque, Galata Bridge. Maybe it was the town, maybe it was the hotel, but Istanbul is now one of my favorite cities in the world. I WANT MORE!

Really bad hotel in a convenient location
The place was really easy to get to from the Cemberlitas tram stop, but from there on, everything about the Golden Crown was disappointing. The service was disinterested (if not contemptuous). The room was small and had only been superficially cleaned. I had requested a double bed, and got two tiny twins separated by a night stand. It stank of smoke, and one of the first things I saw was a large insect crawling on my pillow. Breakfast was the most disappointing (cold eggs, bad fruit) that we had in Turkey. Maybe most frustrating was that they advertised a 5-Euro shuttle to the airport, but when we asked about it (the day before), they said, "So sorry, it's full," without acting particularly concerned or offering any suggestions or alternatives. The much cheaper budget hostel where we stayed earlier in our trip was superior in almost every regard. Go with that option if you visit Istanbul.

The hotel is in a great location to the train and the main attractions. The only thing I didn't like about my room was that the room was always pretty hot. Thankfully every night was pretty chilly so we were able to keep the window open to get a breeze.

room conditions matters a great deal
We were assigned to a really tiny room the first night and the minute you opened the door you smell smoke, shower tiles were molded, bathroom was extremely tight spaced. We had 2 persons with a twin room but there was hardly any room for us to put the luggage. We complained to the staff and they promised to change room the next day. The new room we got was far better than the previous one, room was spacious, air was not stuffy, bathroom in fairly good condition. I wish we could spend another night there, thanks to the commodating staff.

ideally located , a bit hilly and not for faint hearted but easy access from metro and also in easy distance to blue mosque and main tourist centre. Staff were friendly and helpful , hotel was clean and comfortable

Certainly one of the best in Eminonu
The staff at the hotel are just so friendly that you do not even feel you are in a foreign country. The hotel is situated near the main attractions and some of the best restaurants. It is certainly value for money. I highly reccommend this hotel to everyone and I am definitely going to use it in future as well as I am definitely coming back to Istanbul especially to Eminonu.

Golden Crown in Sultanahmet
This is my second time staying at this hotel. It is a very convenient location, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. If you arrive by cab, have the phone number for the hotel as the cab drivers don't know every hotel in Istanbul.

Very clean hotel and easily accessible. Within walking distance of agia sophia, turkish baths, blue mosque etc. Hotel very kindly arranged for late check out at a discounted rate. Really suited us as our flight was late in the evening. Very helpful and friendly front desk. Only negative was the breakfasts, which were ok, not great. Otherwise I highly recommend this hotel. Good value for money.

Great location and everything we needed.
Located just a few minutes from the tram and ideally situated for the historic area! Perfect to get out and explore. The only down side is that the walls are very thin and our neighbours were clearly in Istanbul for a party! So take ear plugs! Lovely traditional Turkish breakfast and comfy rooms with powerful showers! Just what we needed after a packed day of sightseeing!

Beware of Teenager Travel Groups
This hotel is plagued by Summer teenage travel groups. This means the use of the elevator becomes a nightmare, the breakfast buffet is loud and messy, and the water and juice fountain (intended for dining room use only) becomes a long line-up of teenagers filling up their canteens.

There is a metal crushing business next to this hotel that makes very loud noises during the day. Also, they were working on the hotel from early morning till the early evening and it was very annoying. Some rooms on the top floor do not have internet access.

Istanbul so good they named it once
The hotel unusually for Old Istanbul was set in a pleasant location over looking a small town square and nearer the top of the hill... This meant the Grand Bazaar and the Blue Mosque were within easy walking distance. There are plenty of good clean restaurants serving the local delicacies of sheik kebabs and fish menus just moments away from the hotels front door. The famous fish restaurant quarter is just a 10 minute walk away at the bottom of the steep hill. The staff within the hotel were very helpful always will to help or carry your bag. I suggest if you can book a room at the front of the hotel as the view from the rear is restricted by the buildings just 10 feet away to the rear. The only down side was the free Wi-Fi in the hotel was a bit hit and miss but thats only a minor niggle to what was a very pleasant stay for me.

Hotel was adequate. Only was here overnight. Arrived about 3:30 a.m. and they were up with door open. Later in a.m. advised me of a shuttle back t heairport and ordered it right away. appreciated that.

I have stayed 4 nights in the Golden Crown accommodation with pleasure. The staff is very helpful, nice and friendly. We had a tv and minibar in the room. Крайне недоброжелательный человек на стойке регистрации... В аннонсе отеля написано про заезд в после 14 дня. Приехали в 15 и еще полчаса ждали. Кстати, из-за пробок в этом месте, такси не смогло доехать до отеля, шли пешком с чемоданами около 300 метров. Были забронированы две комнаты, предложили человеку (который должен был жить в одной из них), поселить в другой отель. Только обещание пожаловаться в hotels.com позволило жить (все-таки) в одном отеле. Неуютно. Единственное, что приятно порадовало - в санузле вода текла и уходила нормально. Люди, часто пользующиеся отелями, знают - это основная проблема в отелях. На тройку с минусом. Не советую...

Leuke hotel het is maar dat de personeel goed was anders was ik er nooit meer na terug gegaan de jongens bij de receptie krijgen een dikke 10 plus .maar de hotel in het algemeen kwa kamer en airco die niet werkt hygiëne vind ik slecht
