Good location, Beautiful interior & Friendly staff

Posted May 25, 2017
Pros: Roof-top dining
Cons: Complimentary bottled water?
Location: Grand Bazaar where you could do your shopping
Overall, my stay with the hotel is extremely pleasing. When we first walked into the hotel, we were super amazed by old European-style interior. We were welcomed by the friendly receptionist and served with warm cup of Turkish black tea. Pros: Location is super good! The tram station is within walking distance and the Grand Bazaar is not more than five min walk. Breakfast at the roof-top terrace is an extremely pleasant experience. Turkish food served in a buffet style and you could get a nice view over the old city of Istanbul. More importantly, roof-top access is twenty-four hour and you could enjoy some drinks accompanied by the beautiful night scenic of the city. We were staying at the junior suites with Turkish bath and what you see in the photos are really what you are getting. Clean and beautiful interior. Turkish bath is new to us but we could figure out how to heat up the facilities ourselves. If you are unsure, you could always approach their staff. Cons: Overall, we have nothing to complain about our stay. If there is any, we think that the hotel should include complimentary bottled water.

Character Hotel close to the historic centre

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: The hotel has an immediate impact as soon as you see it. There is great attention to detail and the lobby area and coffee lounge is beautiful to be in
Cons: Breakfast was a bit unimaginative and could do with a little more variety, particularly the hot food. Apart from that everything was perfect
Location: The Hotel is within an easy walk of the old town including all the star attractions. The Blue (Sultan Mehmet) Mosque, Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace
The Hotel greeted me with a local tea in the relaxing Ottoman style tea and coffee lounge. I checked in once I'd relaxed and was then shown to my room which was excellent in terms of decor, facilities and comfort. The staff are very helpful and the assistant manager was a fount of information. He didn't try to sell tours but gave me all the information to do what I wanted in my own way. He was also very interesting and knowledgeable about the city and its history. Breakfast is a fairly standard buffet breakfast but is served at the top of the hotel on a lovely terrace with a lovely view. The hotel is quiet and ideally located for those wanting to see the top attractions in the old part of the city. A five day ticket is good value at 85tl and covers all the historic places you'll want to go. There are also great views of the Bosperous. There are plenty of great restaurants and cafes to suit every taste and pocket. Turkish cuisine is superb and full of variety. The trams are cheap and make it easy to get to the Asia side or to other parts of the city. You need to buy a card and top it up with cash at the machines at each stop. It's a flat rate of 2.30tl for every journey whatever the length.

I have been coming to Istanbul for some time to meet our rug pickers and weavers. This hotel without a doubt was the best one I have stayed at. The entire staff could not have been nicer. They treated me like family.

Thank you very much for this lovely reviewand for all the beautiful words you said, Walt. The pleasure is all ours to have met you. Thank you for naming us your new home base. We are flattered. May we also kindly inform that, we have various types/sizes of rooms available; depending on your preferences. The room you stayed booked for your first reservation was the most basic room category, and smallest in room size. The next category rooms are about twice as large in area, and are currently available at great value for money rates.

The staff was pleasant, however, the breakfast provided can be expanded a little in choice.

Thank you very much for your nice words about the staff and your very valuable feedback,Khurram. We have very recently updated our breakfast choice offering arragement, where we offer our guests a list of "tomorrow's breakast items" to select from, handed to the guests on a daily basis. The guests are now offered to custom choose their own breakfast, among the 20 items on offer. The feedback we have been receiving about this new arrangement is very positive so far. Hope you enjoy it,too, should you choose to come to Istanbul again and stay with us next time, which we sincerely hope. All the best, Deniz Duyar

Incredible service and a quaint hotel

Posted Dec 26, 2016 on Hotels
Every single staffperson with whom I interacted was incredibly professional, spoke stellar English, and seemed willing to go above and beyond to help me. I felt so taken care of that I felt to tip above and beyond what is customary. Additionally, it was a 10 minute walk from all of the sites in downtown Istanbul. A perfect location. The breakfast every morning was impeccable. I honestly think the omelettes prepared for breakfast were the best I've ever had (I don't even like omelettes). This hotel is very worth it if you want a unique, nostalgic hotel reminiscent of an earlier decade in Istanbul.
