The staff at the Palazzo Donizetti Hotel is fantastic! Mehmet (F. B.), manager at the breakfast / restaurant is great. I can't stress enough how good the staff is. The main problem with the hotel is Internet connectivity. In my case, connectivity was essential, as I was planning to work remotely from my hotel room. However, the hotel room had no connectivity. Then, I had to go to the lobby every day for remote work. Furthermore, even at the lobby the connectivity was very bad. Thus, I decided to go to a Starbucks nearby to work. I expect this feedback to be constructive. If they do fix this service, then the overall experience will improve much.

Been staying here since 2013 at least 3-4 times a yr. Excellent location,service,hospitality and cleanliness , never any complaints. This trip was definitely the best as they have a relatively new team on board with Ms dilara as reception manager, always ensures the guest is her priority. She welcomes you with a smile from chk in through to chk out . Extremely dedication to her job and to the guest.she ensure the cleaning team and all other staff serve the guest with highest level of hospitality. Special thanks to the cleaning team in my floor Ms Menice who ensure the room is cleaned throughly and crisp linen and towels ,and the lovely team of Emrah, Hassan,Gokay. The hotel is very old as well as the facilities. You can imagine a big hotel, seven floors with a single elevator. The room was not so clean. The view from the room was terrible (looking at a garbage area). When I asked to change my room once I arrived, they said no availability while the hotel was almost half. With half of this price, you can staff in better hotels in Istanbul. I moved from this hotel to another one for the rest of my visit. The swimming pool is too small and very, very cold. The breakfast is good but not exceptional. I would not recommend and will not come back to this hotel.

Nice hotel close to Istiklal, Galata and Taksim. The staff and service was excellent, the rooms are large, the internet connection is good and the building has been nicely restored. On the downside the bathroom was a little bit moldy and the bed was a little bit uncomfortable for me. I would be happy to stay here again.

Its the 2nd time to stay there...but this time I was not happy at all...the room I got was extremly small...the staff is not super friendly..the 5th floor is very noisy in the evening as they have a night club on the roof...next time, will definitely change the hotel

I booked this hotel for my sister since she needed to be close to where to have an interview. But unfortunately since she was robbed by a taxi driver who supposedly take her from airport IST to this hotel but end up after jacking almost 500EURO from her he dropped her off middle of no where after 2 hours driving from IST to this hotel which is almost 30 minutes. So end up she waived at other cab driver to get to this hotel . First , She found the staff are not friendly at all, barely speaking English. Bathroom with towel hangers falling off, shower full of mold ( Serious health hazard) . Broken shower that upon request wasn't fixed, had to run around asking for repairs,also asking too many times for WIFI connections so finally they provided her at 06:00am!!!!!!! Swimming pool is not available, though reception told us that it was opened. There was NO COMPLEMENTARY DRINKING WATER in the room !!!!!!! which usually they should have free bottles of drinking water. Over all , Unfortunately she had a very bad experience and she hasn't got any of those which they have advertised. Best! Best! Hadavi

Pros: 1. Location, down a short alley from istiklal street. The street it’s on is also where other 5 star hotels like the Pera Palace are which makes it feel safe and lively at night. Also 5 mins walks to Sishane metro station was very convenient. 2. Good breakfast and nice views from the roof top. 3. Nice bathroom and shower head (less the lack of ventilation) 4. Great price Cons: 1. Rooms need updates and better maintenance. Carpet in room was stained. 2. Bad first impression. Was required to sign a waiver for theft of personal belongings from our room at check in. While nothing was lost thankfully, front desk was pretty rude when we asked about it. Personally have never seen such a waiver. Overall, had a nice stay.

Overall stay was okay. The problem was room was too warm as they had opened centrally heated system so we had no choice so slept with windows open . Ac was completely shutdown centrally. The breakfast was just moderate . The toilet seat was broken later they repaired it . Location was the best !!

Overall a very pretty hotel, and very polite and helpful staff. A few issues we had was no a/c, it shows under amenities that there is, but it fails to mention after a certain period in the year its turned off. It was 27c (80f) in our room, and thats with the windows open, no fan, just way too warm. Second was that the bathroom would smell life fish after the shower was used, or the sink even sometimes. We mentioned it a couple of times but no answers.

+ Room and toilet size are nice. + smart tv in rooms, so you can share phone screen on tv (no Netflix or similar applications) + Near Istiklal street (3 min walking distance) + Tea hour for hotel guests (free tea, cake, dessert) + Free Hamam every day for guests. + good service (all reception guys and the lady) - Rooms decore is a little old. - my room view was bad (at an abandoned old building). - I think one of my room windows was broken.
