Good location, overpriced

Posted Nov 19, 2016
Pros: Location Courteous staff
Cons: More effeciency Better cleanliness
Location: Close to all major tourist attractions.
We stayed at this hotel for a period of 7 days. Overall our stay was ok but could have been better. From the looks of it, the hotel was overbooked and was struggling to cope with the number of guests. We were 3 adults and had booked the room for the same. However, on our arrival, we were put into a double room with a third bed squeezed in. The room was hardly adequate for 3 adults. Only after 2 days were we given a triple room and that too on our insisting for it. We were shown a nice triple room in the morning and were assured the room has been allocated to us, but upon our return in the evening after a tiring day of sightseeing, we found we have been changed to a smaller triple room. The explanation given was "technical error" with the booking system. Bed linens and towels were not changed until asked for. We even had to ask for toilet rolls to be replenished many days. The hotel was struggling to cope with the number of guests which could be seen each morning when we struggled to find a breakfast table. On the positive side the hotel staff were very polite and tried to help as best as they could, but one could see they were overworked. The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is a stone throw away from almost all major tourist attractions (Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Basicilla Cistern) and that's what you pay for in the price. The Sultanahmet tram station is also next to the station. I would like to recommend this hotel to others but with a lower price.

Sura design

Great hotel overall! Yet few complaints, basics really! Water was not always replenished, cups and glasses we asked for 4 days out of a week we stayed. Staff always complied at request, but it would me nice not to ask and complain. On the 4th day things got great..complaining worked. The card to get in the room did not work well, we only used one of them..and at that I went to reception at least twice. There are things to work out in the hotel, nonetheless a great place to stay. Central! Comphy! Close to all amenities. Alli ask, don't mess up on small things..water, wardrobes, etc.

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The bed was the perfect combination of firmness and softness. The bathroom and shower were luxurious. Everything was clean and elegant. The staff members were caring, courteous, and engaging. The walk across the way to enjoy the spa, pool, gym, and breakfast was simple and easy. I felt like I had the best of both worlds, a small boutique hotel with the amenities of a large chain hotel. The night I checked in was late and when I walked in I said my name and the clerk said, "I know." I felt like the entire hotel was just for me.

Boutique and unique

Located in the heart of Sultanamet with views of the Blue Mosque from the room balcony topped off the excellent first impression this hotel gives on arrival. Staff couldn't have been more welcoming explaining the layout and facilities. This hotel is directly opposite its larger sister hotel which houses the breakfast room and pool area but in my opinion the Sura Design is the better option, rooms are unique and the service so much more personal. The Sura Grill Restaurant next to reception produced excellent food from its open plan kitchen. Definitely on my way back here.

Great hotel with an Amazing Staff

Posted Jul 4, 2016
Sura Design is not anymore a hotel for my wife and I , it became a second home. After a lovely stay , my wife had a medical condition and had to be rushed to the hospital. We have received an amazing treatment by the entire staff. They were extremely helpful and manager sent someone with us to stay beside us and help in translation he was calling every couple of minutes to ensure that everything is ok. it is great to enjoy the facilities of any hotel but when great facilities come along with an amazing staff , it results in a second home Thanks Sura Design for everything
