Great location for all the historical sights.

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Staff and breakfast with a view!
Cons: Room was a little on the small side but we weren't in it much.
Location: All places of historical interest. SultanAhmet tram station which takes you everywhere.
Welcoming staff made this stay particularly good. On arrival we were offered some apple tea and cake which we had whilst chatting to the reception staff. The location is amazing and perfect for a short stay when time is precious. Breakfast included everything you could possibly wish for, including freshly made eggs any way; the omelette was great. I can't really fault anything, we trammed, walked, ferried and bussed Istanbul, I think we saw it all!!!

Nice hotel in excellent location

Posted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, helpful staff ( including speaking English)
Cons: More drawer space for clothes.
Location: The Blur Mosque and Hagia Sophia are very close and Topkapi Palace is also walkable.
The Ambassador is a very nice hotel in an exceptional location for the major sights in Istanbul. We booked the deluxe room, since the others looked small in the pictures, and it was fine. The hotel was very clean and they add many nice touches like fresh fruit and flowers in the room. The rooftop terrace has a nice view and they have a good breakfast that includes Turkish and American dishes. There are many restaurants within less than 100 yards walk, and there is a tram stop and a nice park very close by. The only issue we had was that the city power for the entire area was off for major parts of two days (obviously beyond control of the hotel). They have a generator for lighting and such, but it does not power the air conditioning or the elevator.

Great Location

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Location and staff attention
Cons: room size and view, towels smell
Location: all main attractions are nearby and good restaurants also
The hotel view at the roof top is amazing but from the bedroom is awful. the location is perfect near the blue mosque, the Hagia Sophia and most attractions and also near the tram which is very convenient. the breakfast was good with omelet made to order and many other choices. The bedrooms and bathrooms are small if compared to same class hotels I've been before. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. Overall I say I had a good stay when you take in consideration you go to Istanbul not to be in the hotel but to see all enchanting and joyful surroundings.

Good Hotel Hard To Find

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: CENTRAL POSITION AND THE ROOF GARDEN
Cons: SIGNS FOR THE HOTEL
Location: EVERYTHING IS NEARBY MUSEUMS ,MOSQUES ,HIPPODROME CISTERNS ,SHOPPING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT
good Hotel in excellent central position with beautiful Roof Garden where you have breakfast with views of Hagia Sofia to the left and Blue Mosque to your Right and the Bosporos in the backround But don't ask a taxi driver to find it because he can't. It is set back from the main street and from the side street and you cannot see the entrance until you walk down a corridor between two Restaurants. Along the main street there is a sign 'AMBASSADOR HOTEL ' But the sign is at the 5 th floor and you have to be in the know , to look up !!!

Location location location

Posted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: Front of house staff were excellent - Turkish delight upon leaving - everyone was very friendly and willing to help
Cons: We only stayed 1 night - unable to comment
Location: excellent location, centrally located to Blue Mosque, Haig Sofia, Tram 1min walk, restaurants out the front door, we walked to Grand Bazzar -
We arrived early, but they still managed to have a room for us - and then we were ungraded - def stay in the deluxe room if you can its more comfortable compared to the standard room. Great view on top deck, where breakfast is served -

Great trip to Instanbul

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: The situation, the friendly staff, the view from view roof top restaurant, the breakfast. The room was comfortable- bathroom quite small but clean.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Near many main sights, lots of eating places nearby, trams right beside.
We had a fab time in this vibrant, friendly and interesting city. The Ambassador Hotel is in a great situation. We ate breakfast in the roof top restaurant gazing at the amazing view of the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sophia Mosque and the sea. Everyone was so friendly. We were surrounded by lovely restaurants and chose a different one each night- all were excellent and very reasonably priced. The staff in the hotel couldn't do enough for us and helped us to organise our on line check in and boarding cards as Turkish Airlines check in is only open 24 hours prior to take off. This saved us a long queue at the airport. We had booked a sedan to meet us and take us back to the airport.
