Double Charged In my Card - Hotel and Expedia

I was charged by expedia and by the hotel, the hotel said that in the system they had "collect payment at the hotel",
I have been with expedia for quite some time and I had never experienced something like this, it is really confusing and takes time to explain to the hotel and now to you expedia, please clarify this for my since I believe yours is a great service, I don't believe this is a regular situation

Dear Valued Guest, thank you for staying at WOW Airport Hotel and posting your feedback.With regard to your comments about payment, please allow us to inform you our hotel does not charge twice any reservation. Pre-authorization of Guest's credit card is technically a "hold" on your credit card credit line from a purchase placed there by a WOW Hotel who has initiated a charge, but not completely processed it. When we actually complete the charge process, the pre-authorization amount will be replaced by an actual charge debited from Guest's card. No money is taken from Guest's credit card but it show as a 'Pending Transaction'. The authorisation of Guest's card will last the length of Guest's stay and it will take up to few days after Guest's departure to be released.
