Was a very nice hotel on the beach.

Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful.Rooms were clean
Location: The location was great .. right on the beach.. shops and restuarants close by
Had a wonderful stay....the room was clean.. the staff was very pleasant, friendly, happy and helpful. Would go back again

Nice Price, nice hotel

Staff incredible, facilities well in general. Just one Point, the towells for the pool are really small, you need two or three for person.

Deception of the room. Close to beach

My room 103 had cockroaches and the toilet was not flushing properly. There was also a humid smell and was too noisy. BIG DECEPTION!!!

VERY UNSAFE! WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE!!

I do not recommend! I originally booked a "JR Suite" for 5 persons but upon arrival I was told I had to pay per person. I said fine! Next thing I know they tried to fit 5 adults and a child in a 1 bed room , this is after being charged the additional fee. They offered to bring roll-away beds...are you kidding me?! After I was charged extra per person?! Couldn't give me a room with 2 beds? I had to fight for it. That's not it, the A/C leaked all over the floor. We had to deal with that...And to top it off, my son cut his toe in the kids' pool and my brother fell while coming down the steps at the restaurant due to wet floor and the person in charge thought it was funny. The "General Manager" had nothing but excuses..said accidents happen. My son jumped into the pool and came out with a cut on his toe, pouring blood...how was that an accident? My brother was walking down the steps and there was water on the floor that caused him to slip. According to the GM they have floor that are "anti-slippery" regardless if there's water on them. Excuse after excuse! This place is very unsafe. This place is poorly managed. Do not get fooled by the pictures on the website...oh and by the way, the rooms are upon availability... does not matter what you book online, they will give you the room they want. While I was there a heard multiple people complaining about the rooms, what they reserved was not what they were getting

Occupied a junior suite on an upper floor ocean facing. Marvelous view of the whole beachfront. Friendly, hardworking staff. Pleasant, relaxing holiday.

resort next to beach

Pros: the view from our Oceanside room
We came to Zihuatenejo for a wedding and I booked us in Ixtapa not knowing it was 10-15 minutes away from Zihua. Next time we will stay in Playa Del Ropa or even in Zihua itself. We only stayed in Ixtapa for 2 nights. The first day we went diving in Zihua and the second day we went to town in Zihua and then to Playa Del Ropa beach. It was explained to me that Americans tend to like Zihua for the old world feel and you know you are in a different country. The same person said that Mexicans tend to like the resorts, like Hotel Emporio, because it is clean and manicured. Hotel Emporio was definitely that. We did not spend anytime at the resort but the pools were pretty, some kids but not overcome with children. Music bumping, not playing, bumping pretty loudly. I would stay in Zihuatenejo or Playa Del Ropa next time because I loved it down there. If I was looking for a resort experience or something all inclusive, I would come right back to Hotel Emporio. The staff was kind, it felt safe, the rooms were comfy. It would have been nice to have a balcony or even clean windows.

TOO MANY KIDS RUNNNING WILD AND SO CROWDED IN POOL WITH BABIES AND KIDS-- COULD NOT SIT AS AN ADULT IN POOL BAR TO EVEN ENJOY A DRINK-- DONT GO IN MARCH!
