Antler arch, no animals harmed. This ones for @ChasingAmber !
The National Elk Refuge is located on an ancient elk wintering ground three miles north of Jackson.
Every spring the Boy Scouts are allowed on the refuge to harvest the shed elk antlers that are sold at the annual ELKFEST. The boy Scouts get 20% of the sales which are in access of $100,000
A sleigh ride out into the refuge is a great experience and should not be missed. Our guide was knowledgeable and every bit a character of the west. At $20 it's a great way to spend a few hours... no cell phones allowed. Bring your long lens. Sweet view of Tower Creek that I would have missed, had it not been for a rainbow I was chasing. Then there was a fox walking down the street when I was trying to pull out of the spot 🔮 I highly recommend taking a sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge. The guides are great and you get to be very close to thousands of Elk! Drove a bit outside town to catch this amazing sky show over the snowy Tetons. It was definitely worth the freezing temperatures! #WinterWonders Aman resorts tend to be gorgeous and crazy expensive. However, the Amangani resort in Jackson Hole is happy to let you come in and have a meal at their restaurant or even just take tea in their lobby. A different barn on Mormon Row Jackson Hole is a great place to spend a few days relaxing. It is also close to several other places you can venture out and visit. The town square features arches made from elk antlers! It's all environmentally friendly as the elks naturally shed them every year... I just love this sign on a storefront in Jackson Hole. Jackson Hole in the winter is beautiful! These views don't lie! I would highly recommend this place! We walked around the area looking for a place to eat. There were people waiting outside, and through an open window I saw what looked like a giant chimichanga. I got an echalada, with green chile on top, it was made with fresh corn tortillas. Very good!
This beer was a local brew. Normally I'm weary of lagers, but this was very easy to drink and very malty. Expensive cowboy. Riding the chair lift back down the mountain back into Jackson Hole with the Grand Tetons in the distance The Fur Jock Strap ... for the man who has everything !
I am sure that animal rights activists are cringing but... this is pretty funny and... I am guessing... pretty damn comfy !
