Tired old motel with tired staff with no sparkle

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: location inexpensive two bedded room during foliage season
Cons: turn on lights in the public rooms; get something fresh in the breakfast; have staff say hello and welcome guests
Location: Mountains for hiking; foliage; dining; covered bridge to augle
Located in Jackson just south of the covered bridge this is an old one story motel with some rooms with patios/balcony overlooking the small river barely visible at the back of the property . The elderly staff were not available when we arrived at 5 PM and we had to call the number outside the front door to be told to look for the "clerk" on the sofa of the lounge. Not there. Eventually an elderly woman with sciatica arrived explaining her delay and pain. Few lights in the lobby and lounge In low light we registered and the same woman led us to our room. Adequate in size and quaint in decor. View of lawn and children's play furniture . Could not see the "river view". Everything was spare and limited. Towels were thin and two for two persons. Beds sagged but gave a good nights sleep Adequate pillows Parking was free and scattered around the building. "Breakfast" was quite spare with packaged bagels and nothing fresh. Orange juice only Coffee by Keurig but do not take more than one cup per person. An elderly man supervised and oversaw our selection of bread. Our general sense was there was no life or caring from the tired out older staff. No one welcomed us or encouraged us to have a good stay as at most family run motels. The motel was clean and is well placed in Jackson. Okay but not outstanding

Love the area and grounds but.....

Hotel needs major updates did not even take a shower due to water pressure and cleanliness of bathroom. Very odd odor in room as well. The staff was good specially gentlemen serving breakfast. Very friendly. Like balcony but was afraid to lean due wood being rotted.

We knew we were staying in an older place, they need a handyman to address issues. The photo of breakfast on this site and the reality are like night and day! The location was outstanding.

Cheap

Posted Jul 15, 2017 on Hotels
For the money, it was what it was. Outdated, a little smelly, dark and gloomy but cheap. Half the price of surrounded hotels. Staff was a little rough, but harmless. Would I stay again, probably not. Didn't get much sleep, mattress was, well, reminded me of a thirty year old sleeper sofa. Looking for a cheap place to crash then stay here, want a nice updated clean place to bring the family? Stay elsewhere.

Terrible hotel run down and smelled like mold

Posted Jun 28, 2017
Has zero amenities and falsely represents the place with fake photos on their website. The place is run down and rooms smell like mols.
