Step back in time...

Posted Jan 24, 2018
Pros: Location,antiques,staff,front porch.
Cons: The rooms are sorely in need of being updated.
Location: Cross country skiing, ice skating, sleigh rides, restaurants,I love Jackson.
The Eagle Mountain House is rich with history. My sister, nieces and myself loved all the antiques and I can't say enough about the staff from the front desk,to the dining room manager Russell and Conner,Matt our wait staff to the our housekeeper I'm sorry I never got their names? My only issue was that the rooms all could be updated and we're looking forward to the future when it is.It was quite apparent by the demeanor of the staff that they "love" the Eagle Mountain House too. Looking forward to coming back next winter.

Historical hotel

Posted Jan 4, 2018
Eagle Mountain House is great for cross-country skiing out the door. We love the historical ambience. It is a bit worn, but the prices are fair. (Why they cannot update the old old falling apart ping-pong table beats me.)

Thank you for your review. The ping-pong table HAS seen better days! It is just one of those things that don't get prioritized on a 100 year old property's 'must fix' list. I will pass your message on to those who can get us a new one. Your next tournament will be legendary!

Beautiful old hotel

Posted Dec 18, 2017
Nice New England feel to it. The lobby and pub are especially warm and inviting and beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. The staff is outstanding. The hallways could definitely use new carpets. They squeak badly. The walls are “paper thin”. I could hear some one snoring all night long. But, overall, we enjoyed our stay. The staff definitely made the difference.

New England charm near skiing and hiking

Posted Dec 1, 2017
Great value for the money in a quaint New England village, the Eagle Mountain House has been one of our favorite destinations in ski season for years. Accommodating staff, relaxing atmosphere, and homey charms keep us coming back to this area again and again.

Eagle Mountain Saved the Day

Posted Oct 31, 2017 on Hotels
We have been going to the Eagle Mountain House for years. There was a significant storm and power outage during this stay. The staff was wonderful in seeing to it that there was lighting and some food for the guests. When power came on, the hotel offered a full breakfast from their menu at no charge. This was a very nice touch.

Room very comfortable and nicely renovated.

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: Very friendly staff, great porch for sitting, great old hotel - lots of character.
Cons: Carpet on stairs especially needs to be replaced. I understand the capital necessary however.
Location: Gorgeous falls a short walk down the road - will be back.
There for a one night anniversary stay. Enjoyed walking the down road to beautiful waterfalls. Even though hallway floors creak, it wasn't loud at night or early in the morning. Bathrooms are clean, bright and nicely appointed. Wonderful porch for sitting on rockers, the library was cozy and nice to sit in front of the lobby fireplace. Dinner was good in comfortable dining room. We didn't have lunch in the lounge but it looked very cozy and comfortable - nice afternoon sun was coming in. All employees were very friendly and helpful.

Romantic Get away.

Posted Oct 21, 2017
Pros: The food.
Cons: Upgrade the mattresses and carpeting (as planned).
Location: North Conway is only 15 minutes away but there are so many nice restaurants in Jackson, just pick a new one each day.
The food is fantastic in their dining room. They are working on upgrading their carpeting and mattresses in the room. So when you check in ask for an extra pillow top for your bed and you should be good to go. Of course I didn't realize this until I was checking out. We had a 3 night stay and it's nice to hike to the stream next to the road. In the winter we cross country ski to his hotel from downtown Jackson always a good place to get refreshed (a nice bar). I hope this helps.
