Great location; stunning views from Veranda

Pros: The Veranda is a wonderful place to sit, relax and enjoy the view! By far, the best!
Cons: It does need a little updating, new carpeting throughout; and the breakfast buffet was just adequate, but we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
Location: There are so many options. It is close to Story Land and North Conway; and it is close to hiking trails and streams.
The hotel has a lot of charm and elegance. It is close to all of the local attractions. The only downside was because we booked through Expedia, they indicated they couldn't print us a receipt showing room charges for the breakfast buffet and drinks from the Tavern, so we could confirm the charges.

Good location when visiting Mt. Washington

Pros: Location great and beautiful scenery
This was our second and last stay at the Eagle Mountain House. Management is deferring maintenance and it is apparent!!!

New Hampshire Charm

This hotel is tucked away on a side road that climbs up into the hills along side a beautiful stream and cascading falls. We spent one night there so we can't really comment on the amenities or service, but our brief experience was positive. The hotel sits on a golf course which looked inviting but we were headed to Mt Washington so maybe next time!

Old fashion

The grounds were pretty and well maintained, but it is very dated. The staff could not be more friendly and wanting to help in any way. Restaurant was ok, but expensive.

Great service but needs to be remodeled

Amazing staff, really friendly and always trying to make our stay really pleasant. The hotel brands itself as "old style" but I found this to be a code word for "not renovated in a long time". Clean rooms, good food, great service but very old and uncomfortable mattress.

Nice historic hotel

Beautiful veranda with rocking chairs to utilize looking at the mountains and golf course. Historic hotel with creaky floors, old fashioned fixtures and everything else you expect from an old hotel. Coffee service in the morning a plus for us. They even have a manual elevator which is quite neat to take a ride on.

If you like "old" hotels you will love this venue. The staff is very friendly. As other reviews have said - the rugs are shabby, etc. but it is an "old hotel". Funky elevator. Overall, our stay was very good. The negative side was when housekeeping left our room (both nights) our door was not locked. Fortunately, our valuables were with us. Would we stay there again, very likely and that speaks volumes.

Creaky beds and floors, cannot sleep

Old decrepit. You can hear every pin drop and your bed creaks like a vampire movie. People upstairs were stomping and I was convinced floor would collapse. Mattresses are from 1800. No elevator. Big hassle. Unattentive and completely careless front desk staff. Gavee my room key and the next door key. I could have walked in their room anytime. I told the desk at checkout and they said "that's ok". Keys are from 1800's, lileetal, not secure magnetic . Totally authentic colonial era accommodations experience if you're into that.
