Nice spot with an old Florida vibe. Small room and quite loud due to the tavern and beer garden next-door. However, the price was right, and the location is super convenient to exploring the town.

I have to say this is one of our favorite B&B locations. The staff and all of the small touches make this a memorable experience. Not to mention the breakfast. All amazing.

As it was a bed and BREAKFAST, the breakfast portion was terrible. Coffee, oatmeal from an instant bag and dry bread! is what was served.

We have stayed here many times over the past 5 years. The atmosphere and the people are amazing. The only real draw back is the parking situation.

The bed was comfortable and the property location is great but that is the best I can offer. I was given a Standard Room, 1 King but I booked and paid for the Honeymoon Single Room. One of the reasons I booked the HSR is that it was 1 of the 2 rooms with a refrigerator. Fortunately I had decided not to transport my daughter's medication kept under refrigeration. The window A/C unit in the standard room did not work so the room was hot the day I arrived and then very cold when the temperature dropped into the 40s that night and the next night. The shower is disgusting. The base is a clawfoot type tub placed in a small tiled alcove of the room (a bit odd, but ok for a single traveler). However, the plastic shower curtain to keep water out of the room is filthy. There was hair in the tub basin. The alcove walls are maintained (poorly) only above the height of the tub. Looking below the tub height at the walls and floor of the alcove reveals that this area of the shower is never or infrequently cleaned or even dried/drained. I never saw a staff member and the office door was closed upon arrival (2 pm), at departure (9 am) and at all times I walked by it. There was limited water for the parlor Keurig and I'm not sure when it was most recently filled. On my first morning all but 2 of the k-cups were decaf. Breakfast was underwhelming. The Inn is a nostalgic property but in need of some very basic attention. It is also wrong I did not receive the room I booked.

It was fine for an older property. Toilet ran the whole time. Placed a call for repair and never heard back. Did not fix or respond. Stayed two days and never saw a staff member after check in. Emily, who checked us in was very nice. Property needs a lot of upkeep.

Property was severely understaffed. The person on duty was always very nice. It was just impossible for one person to provide the basic necessities. The sitting room downstairs was either out of coffee pods or water to fill the Keurig. The same pastries there when we arrived were still there when we left, only 3 days more stale. Breakfast was from 8:30-9:30, late by most B&B standards, and underwhelming. Bedroom was tiny and bathroom was in what would have been the closet. Two electrical outlets in our room were broken as was the towel rack. One couple we met couldn’t stand the place any more and moved to a different hotel even though they’d already paid for the night there. The only saving grace was the parking in the back and the walkability to the nearby historic district shopping.

We have stayed here for years during our anniversary. It’s a no frills but rustic experience, perfect for those who just need a comfortable place to sleep and stay out exploring all day. We love the old school charm but miss the awesome breakfast they used to serve each morning. But all in all, it’s a great place to stay for the price and location!

Staying in the oldest surviving hotel in Florida was really neat. Historical details and beautiful old-fashioned architecture and gracious wrap round porches was charm-filled. As was the ancient Live Oak becoming one with the building itself. Downside was the bed which Was a bit too firm for my aging body. A thick mattress pad or topper would go along way towards more comfort. Also, if you don’t like to hear live singers wailing forth until 10 pm bring ear plugs or stay away. It stopped at 10 pm which I could live with. Full of Florida charm.

I would not stay here again. I realize it is an historic building, but definitely needs renovation and new furnishings. The room, number 6, was depressing and not well equipped, and it was an upgraded queen. It was dark and poorly decorated. Tv was 14”, on the top shelf of an armoire. There was an iron, but no ironing board. Room had a fireplace, but fire codes prevent its use. No hooks or towel racks in the bathroom. Location in Fernandina is good, but noisy.

Very quaint and unique. Fabulous location, nice continental brkfst, we did not use the dining room on site. Very easy after hour check in, nice treats & coffee/water after hours in the lobby. The music from Green Turtle did not disturb us. Overall a great place and we would stay here again. I do have two things to offer that need improvement. The shower curtain in room 2 was very dirty with mold at the bottom and needs attention before your next guest; also the bed in room 2 the mattress is entirely too soft, but the main problem is the bed squeaks terribly, you cannot turn over in bed without disturbing your partner and it seriously needs to be fixed. .Otherwise, while the standard size queen rm is extremely small and could use a bench for the second set of luggage to be placed on in that room, it is very quaint and unique, would stay here again and you absolutely can not beat the location.

It was very noisy. If you prefer a quiet location this wouldn’t work for you. We liked the the walk ability to everything.Paul the bartender was very popular and a nice guy.

We had stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it. This years visit however was not as nice. Although we booked a room with a Queen bed, it was actually a long, narrow room with a double bed shoved into the corner. The bed was not big enough for us and we could only get in from one side. There was no heat source except for a small plug in electric radiator and it was a cold night. The Florida House bar had a private party and so could not be used. The property next door had a loud band and a lot of people and although we didn't really mind the noise, overflow patrons made use of the Florida House parking lot and so there was no parking available and we had to park on the street, several streets away. Overall...underwhelming.

Mattresses on the beds are very outdated and overused. Bathrooms and rooms are not adequately cleaned. We had 3 rooms and everone had the same complaint. Breakfast was not served until 8:30. That is very late for thise of us who want to get up and be active.

5 piece LOUD!! outdoor band next door until 11:30pm. Green Turtle Bar with open patio patrons partying until 1:00am. Okay if you go to bed after 1:00am. Left before 8:30am, so no breakfast served from 8:30-9:30. Would not stay there again. Lesson learned look at neighboring properties and if city has a noise ordinance.
