Good Downtown Location

Pros: Convenient location.
Cons: How about 24 hour room service after a long flight? Corporate should give you a budget to upgrade your mattresses and linen.
Location: The helpful lady at the valet told me where to find a nearby Starbucks and I discovered the Riverside area. Great restaurants like Black Sheep.
Customer service was excellent. The front desk, valet, bellman, and the bar. Everyone is well trained and helpful. Not to take anything away from them, but a good night sleep is also a priority for me. And the smell of both beds including mattresses, sheets, and pillows in my room was horrible. It made me feel very uneasy and I did not sleep well. I actually smelled body odor from other people! I asked the housekeeper to change the pillows which helped but not much. Many pillows had no protectors under the pillow cases. Also, every time I used the shower, or toilet, you could hear loud dripping noises in the sink! When I first arrived it was late and I went to the bar to order food since there is no 24 hour room service. While I was waiting, the cleaning crew was eager to clean right next to me in the bar and began to spray the carpet with something out of a canister and vaccum with a loud machine. There were about 10 people still in the bar. This was shortly after last call. I asked the guy if he was spraying pesticide because that's what it looked like. He said it was a cleaning solution that was all natural. Not sure I believe that.

Worth the stay

Loved the room and staff. I think it's the closest hotel to Everbank stadium and walking distance to The Landing. The sports bar staff was amazing but the drinks were a little on the pricey side. Still had an enjoyable time. Was disappointed I had to pay $60 for parking for our 3 night stay. Was surprised the hotel didn't cover parking. We had an amazing time.

The water offered a great sea breeze and the room was pristine. I would definitely recommend and stay again!!

Very nice hotel. Rooftop pool and fitness center. Room was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast buffet was delicious. We stayed at this hotel while attending a two-day music festival. Each night when we returned to the hotel after the concert, the hotel had set up a hamburger and tator tot buffet. This was such a wonderful gesture by the hotel to know their guests would be hungry late at night. Thank you!!!

Very mediocre

Someone's left over trash was under the bed for starters. The staff we encountered were decent but definitely not 4 star. The room was equivalent to a Holiday Inn.

A hotel that provides the right environment

This is my third stay at this hotel and I have booked for another week. Words like updated, clean, professional and excellent describes this hotel. What is not to like. The staff is amazing at every position. I highly recommend Hyatt Regency downtown Jacksonville. Get a room overlooking the river. The city is beautiful at night.

Beware of parking cost and shuttle

Beware of parking cost & shuttle service. I think their website is misleading. The website said it has a free shuttle. Once we arrived, we were told the shuttle will not take us to a sporting event under a mile away. We (2 families including 4 children under the age of 8) went walking to the baseball stadium. The walking GPS took us by homeless people on a corner and a jail. On the way back, we took a taxi that cost $3. DO NOT GO WALKING. DO NOT COUNT ON THE SHUTTLE FOR SPORTING EVENTS. It cost $20 to park overnight in the garage. The meters are free on week-ends. Once we found this out (because we asked at check-in), we moved our car (within 35 mins) out of the garage, and we still paid $4 for the 35 mins. Pool was good. It is heated. Staff was friendly, other than their refusal to take us to a minor league game. Rooms were fine. Restaurant at the hotel was good and convenient.
