Under construction. Not a good experience

Posted Jan 30, 2017
It was not disclosed this place is having a major remodel. Construction dust in the main lobby and all over tbe second floor where I stayed. I stayed in a recently remodeled room but they were still working on some rooms on my floor. Dust., power tools. Spanish being spoken and mexican music playing by the workers as I went to my room. All things that would be expected in a construction site but not expected in a hotel whete you pay money for a relaxing room. The power tools made a late afternoon nap impossible. I would have just went to anothet hotel but I was tired so braved the conditions. I feel it should have been disclosed at time of booking this place was in the middle9of a remodel. It wss dusty. Loud and generally unacceptable.

Nice hotel but was under major renovations

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Pros: closeness to highway
Cons: they should have warned customers its was being renovated.
Location: Topgolf, and shopping
This hotel may could been pleasant, however it was under major renovation so between the noise, workers tearing up the floors, and gunk coming up in our sink the experience was not a good one.

Don't stay at this Sheraton!

Posted Jan 3, 2017
Pros: The always friendly front desk staff who tried to fulfill my requests to the best of their ability, and the free morning coffee.
Cons: Almost everything could be improved, especially the attention to room cleanliness. The sheets were mostly clean.
Check in went normally, except no offer to help my way to the room with one smaller carry-on type bag and a larger on-rollers checked-type bag. Room seemed clean, bathroom not so much though. Shower floor was soap-film covered and the rest was also unappealing. After my shower I was not thrilled to find out that ALL of the towels were worn-out totally, not soft at all, and scratchy as could be. It was over Christmas, so the staffing was short and explains some of the room problems. In my entire stay there my room was never vacuumed, ever. I had dropped a soda and sopped it up as best I could with a hand towel. She said something about getting a fan to dry it, but finished and left after positioning the chair on rollers above the wet spot and never returned with a fan. They did graciously provide a roll-away bed for the night my two grandchildren stayed with me overnight, free of charge. The restaurant was horrible and the recommended steak I tried was 50% fat and grizzle. Their indoor pool facility was large, clean, water was crystal clear and deep enough for a range of children's ages. The problem there was that the pool wasn't HEATED! This makes no sense to me because they were already paying for the extra infrared lights to overheat the massive space, already paying for the expensive chemicals and the circulating pumps to infiltrate them into the water. The entire week I was there I saw only one other man and child use the facility and only lasted 10 minutes.

Posted Dec 25, 2016
I stayed in a recently renovated room. The floor and the room is very nice. I would give this place 5 stars but the floor below us is currently being renovated and is loud. The heated pool currently isn't heated they hope to have that fixed soon

My 3 year old son with gator tears.

Posted Nov 29, 2016
I've stayed at this location many times, but this time it was being reconstructed. The funny thing is the online site never said a thing. My little boy was so exited too swin at the pool. Guess what closed.!!!! But thankfully the nice gals at the desk set us up at the hotel two blocks down with a pool. So in conclusion, the heartbreaking gator tears dissapatted. Next stay FREE:)

Terrible

Posted Nov 28, 2016
Pros: Location of hotel
Cons: Everything.
Location: St. Johns Town Center is close by.
I made our reservation through Expedia for the Sheraton Jacksonville Hotel, a month ahead of time. I reserved a Club Suite/with breakfast included (the most expensive room they listed). We were spending Thanksgiving week there to visit with our son, who lives with roommates in an apartment. So, we were going to be in our room a lot, which made the larger suite important to us. When we checked in, we were given a room on the Club floor, however, they informed us there was no Club because of renovations. When we saw the room, we were shocked. We had a very small room with a king size bed and a single chair. No sitting area, no large suite. I went down to talk to the staff and was told that I had a standard king room, and nothing included. But, they said I was upgraded to the Club level floor which had already been renovated. I explained to them (two people) that I had paid the highest price for a room there, and was given a standard small room. This didn't make sense to me. I received the same answer that this was an upgrade to a renovated floor. He told me that the room would not cost what I was reserved but would be the standard charge. We spent 4 nights in this little room, and I was steaming. I would never have stayed there if we had been told of this ahead of time. I still do not know why we didn't have our large suite. When we checked out, a different staff member told us that she did not understand why this had happened. I am unhappy with this.

Love it

Posted Nov 25, 2016
I really love staying on Sheraton, who doesn't? The hotel facility is nice, the staff are kind and they are renovating the rooms. I got one that was just updated they still have little details to fix in the bathroom like but this is a small detail the room is big and beautiful. The only thing my wife did not like is that the renovation guys start to work at 8AM I think and she get really mad but I wake up everyday at 6AM for me was not a problem. The view is beautiful. I
